Don´t you know that the FIA does everything to make the World Championship exciting?
I just say (I won´t go back to the 80ties because I have no idea there of punishments) last year , this year , Suzuka 1997 , Malaysia 1999 and 1994 |

Very interesting news: FIA has decided that all engines will have to be standardised (?) from 2010.
Several teams are said to be leaving the sport due to this decision. |

It's completely normal. It's the same negotiating ploy as every single time the teams and the FIA negotiate.
They want the teams to agree to certain measures, so they propose the ones they want along with extreme ones (in this case the engines), and after the teams wear themselves out negotiating away the engine thing, they will end up viewing that as a victory and not even care about the less extreme stuff which is what the FIA really wants.
It's the oldest and most used negotiating tactic:
if you want this much
|-----------|
ask for this much
|--------------------------------------------------|
so that when you "settle" for what you really want the other side will think they have a great deal.
Business as usual

But what if... Just what if it actually ends up like this? I know, not very likely, but still. It would be the death of Formula 1 then. Who can be bothered to watch a fair duel between a Ferrari Ford and a Renault Ford?

Last race this week-end. Unless he has to face some sort of problem, it's a walkthrough to the title for Hamilton.
It will be rainy, at least partly, though, so everything can happen.
There are lots of rumours around about the few remaining seats for next season : 2 spots at Renault, and according to some technicians from Renault there are 5 men to get them, 2 from Renault, 2 from another serie, and a last one who is driving in F1 this season. First two are of course Alonso and Piquet, the second two are probably Grosjean and Di Grassi, whereas the last one could be Barrichello, Sato, or Bourdais.
Another rumour says Raikkonen will quit F1 next Sunday, at least leave Ferrari. Either because of health problems, either because the Spanish bank Santander will buy his contract back and pay him a departure fee to have Alonso at Ferrari next season.

Bourdais at Renault would be nice. |

It will definitely be interesting, seeing Hamilton's bad placing the qualifying. Is he nervous already? |

My colleagues in Spain are already thinking of how Heikki can avoid Alonso crashing with him
Seriously, it only depends on him. He can let Ferrari go on their own and make a 1-2. |

Mmmm
Massa have to win (and he will when everything wents ok) and Hamilton have to finish 5th (so he will have enough points to win the championship) , because when they have the same amount of points , Massa will win because (I think) he would have 2 wins more then Hamilton
It will be very difficult for Hamilton because he won´t finish 3rd (Räikkönen will fight to the end , Trulli is the best blocker in the field and Alonso will try his best to help Massa) so it would be enough but , at the start , he could crash when someones crashes behind and will takedown Hamilton too
But there is a hope for McLaren , there is a great possibility of rain and we all know that :
McLarens are good at wet conditions
and
Hamilton is much better then Massa in rain (Silverstone..Spa..) |

I screwed up massively this morning. I watched the sports channel, and the F1 was on - and I really thought that the race had started. Seeing that Hamilton had screwed up again, I was in shock.
... and I didn't realise that I wasn't watching 'the real deal' until Hamilton had those problems with his gear box |

Yeah, well, that's what you get for waking up, turning on the tv while still asleep and then hearing F1 motors |

Start delayed by 10 minutes after an unexpected quick few minutes of heavy rainfall.
