@baia
I agree But I had luck that Cunego did not try really to win, he had a weird position at the start of the sprint. If he had been serious, maybe he had win...
@FreitasPCM
Thank you Well, the next really dangerous stage will be stage 14, until then, I think we will be able to hold this great postion.
18. May
The exclusiv interview of "Cycling blog" with Lance Armstrong:
Tour of California
Stage 3: San Francisco - Santa Cruz, 186,6 km
The probably hardest stage of the Tour of California 2010. The Bonny Doon will show which rider are able to win the overall here.
Team goals:
- No time loss on the top favourites (Armstrong, Klöden)
- Damage limitation (Popovych, Brajkovic, Zubeldia)
Favourites: Alberto Contador, Denis Menchov, Alexandre Vinokourov, Michael Rogers, Cadel Evans
My tip: Alberto Contador shold be motivated to beat or squad, he is also a good bet for the stage win.

"If you think I'm going to reveal my current shape to my opponents, then you've got another thing coming."
This is why he's the BOSS.

The interview showed THE BOSS himself
To the stage, lets see who made it today:
Depart in San Francisco
Pacifica. Six rider attacked (including Ballan and Nuyens), but just a little bit later, they get caught by the pack.
Spoiler
Alessandro Ballan (BMC) 6
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma) 4
Frank Travieso (Jamis) 2
The sprint in Half Moon Bay goes to the peloton. Tyler Farrar showed again his strong sprint abilities, winning ahead of Allan Davis and Matt Goss.
Spoiler
Tyler Farrar (Garmin) 6
Allan Davis (Astana) 4
Matthe Goss (Colombia) 2
At least, we have an early group, with 4 minutes in front at the top of the Tunitas Creek. The rider: Ian Bibby (Motorpoint), Nick Nuyens (Rabobank), Alessandro Ballan (BMC), Rory Sutherland (UnitedHealthcare), Sergey Firsanov (Designa Kokken), Dean Downing (Rapha Condor) and Guy East (Kelly Benefit).
Spoiler
Ian Bibby (Motorpoint) 10
Nick Nuyens (Rabobank) 8
Alessandro Ballan (BMC) 6
Rory Sutherland (UnitedHealthcare) 4
Sergey Firsanov (Designa Kokken) 2
"CA 84", already known from the last two stages.
Spoiler
Nick Nuyens (Rabobank) 6
Alessandro Ballan (BMC) 4
Rory Sutherland (UnitedHealthcare) 2
Pescadero.
Spoiler
Nick Nuyens (Rabobank) 5
Alessandro Ballan (BMC) 3
Rory Sutherland (UnitedHealthcare) 1
The Boony Doon split the front group in several small groups, Nick Nuyens is alone in front. No attacks in the peloton yet.
Nuyens; +1'10" Ballan; +1'23" Bibby; +1'56" Downing, Sutherland; +2'18" Peloton.
We reach the top, Nuyens in front, and no attacks in the peloton (expect Knees and Kuschynski which want points for the KOM-jersey). Strange.
Nuyens; +1'32" Ballan; +1'45" Bibby; +2'05" P.
Spoiler
Nick Nuyens (Rabobank) 10
Alessandro Ballan (BMC) 8
Aleksandr Kuschynski (Liqiugas) 6
Christian Knees (Milram) 4
David de la Fuente (Astana) 2
Nuyens already at the 10km mark. Behind him a "selected" group of 46 rider which survived the mountain. Surprisingly, even Allan Davis and Gerald Ciolek are there. Tyler Farrar not, he will lost his "Maillot Jaune" today.
Almost 4km to the finish. The peloton is still one minute back, it seems that Nuyens makes today his first victory 2010...
Or not? The sprint starts with 1,8km to the line, and Nuyens gap shrink to only 28 seconds... In the peloton, we have Allan Davis with his leadout, at their backwheels Ciolek, Cavendish and Popovych.
Nick Nuyens advantage gets smaller and smaller... Can he really win today? In the peloton, Kreuziger and Efimkin accelerates, only Davis in front of them. Yaroslav had not a good day, he slowed down. We have to hope that Lance, who accelerated either, can make a Top10...
Only a few meters to the line... And Allan Davis come with high speed on the left side! Can he get the victory on the line? Nick Nuyens seems confident, he pulls already his hand in the air...
And we get this strange finish foto Allan Davis pass Nuyens on the last meter and win todays stage, while Nuyens, still celebrating, can only be ashamed...
Lance can finish 8th! (So he beats Alberto Contador on a mountain stage )

@FreitasPCM
He has a great year After the win at the australian champs, he already wins stages at the "Vuelta a Andalucia" and the "Drieedaagse De Panne-Koksijde". And we can not forget his great 4th in Milano-San Remo.
It is uncredible. Sérgio Paulinho get better and better, another great development from him! He still has a contract with 15.000€ until 2012, so he will stay a pretty cheap rider for us, and with this stats, I think he will get the honour to represent TheShack in one of the GTs 2011 as captain.
+1 Flat
+1 Mountain
+1 Hill
+1 Time Trial
+1 Acceleration
+1 Resistance
+1 Recuperation
The whole squad:
Giro d'Italia
Stage 10: Avellino - Bitonto, 219,1 km
A few hills, but probably not to hard, so the best sprinters should be ready today to fight at another stage finish.
Team goals:
- Top 10 (Impey)
- Defend the leader jersey/No time loss (Leipheimer, Machado, Paulinho)
Favourites: Óscar Freire, Robert Hunter, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Francesco Ginanni, Danilo Napolitano
My tip: After Alessandro Petacchis abandonment, Óscar Freire has no really opponent left and should take the third stage win (and the point jersey)

@Tuco the Ugly
Thank you I agree, until now, it is a pretty good giro for us. Only one stage win (the TTT), but a great performance in the overall.
@baia
I agree with Paulinho. He is now as strong as Lance and Levi at the climbs, only a bit weaker at the time trials. He will probably not get the leadership at the Tour, but maybe at the Giro Even the AI fails sometimes
Depart in Avellino.
Óscar Freire showed his sprint abilities, beating Hunter, Napo, Boasson Hagen und Bennati at the sprint in Lioni. (We already had a few attackers, including Ivan Basso, but of course we did not let them go)
Spoiler
Óscar Freire (Rabobank) 8
Robert Hunter (Garmin) 6
Danilo Napolitano (Katusha) 4
Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky) 3
Daniele Bennati (Liquigas) 2
Todays breakaway in Valico dell'Imbandina. Rider: Volodomyr Zagorodny (Miche), Assan Bazayev (Astana), Daniel Lloyd (Cervélo), Daniel Sesma (Euskaltel), Gerben Löwik (Omega Pharma), Matthew Wilson (Garmin) and the KOM-jersey Simone Stortoni (Colnago - CSF Inox).
Spoiler
Volodomyr Zagorodny (Miche) 5
Assan Bazayev (Astana) 3
Daniel Lloyd (Cervélo) 1
Especially Liquigas did much today, RadioShack can relax again.
Ruvo di Puglia.

Daniel Lloyd (Cervélo) 8

And with 14,1km to the finish, the peloton is in front again.
5km left. Daryl Impey is well positioned, at the backwheel of Danilo Napolitano.
The sprint begins. Impey lost Napolitanos wheel and will probably not able to get a good position today...
1000m to the line. 7 rider left for fighting for the stage win. At the left Bennati, Freire at his backwheel, Boasson Hagen, Ginanni and Napolitano in the middle, Francesco Failli and Robert Hunter, who is in front, at the left. Behind them, Impey and Sieberg sprint against each other for the 8th place.

Daryl Impey was not able to hold the high pace of the topsprinter, but at least, he was able to get his 5th Top10 place in the Giro 2010.
Francesco Masciarelli finished 40 minutes behind Hunter, and the organisators decided to disqualify him.

@Pellizotti2
Thank you
@FreitasPCM
I agree it is a shame I will miss him
@Roturn
Thanks I agree, until now, it was pretty good. But we have still the last week with the several hard mountain stages
19. May
Tour of California
Stage 4: San José - Modesto, 193,9 km
The first 70km will be pretty hard, but if the pace is not to high, the sprinter should survive and be able to sprint for the victory at the finish, knowing that the last 50km are mostly flat.
Team goals:
- Top10 (Popovych/Klöden)
Favourites: Tyler Farrar, Allan Davis, Marc Cavendish, Gerald Ciolek, André Greipel.
My tip: If he can hold on at the hills, Tyler Farrar should be the winner today.

Depart in San José.
Sierra Rd.
Four rider (Sergio Hernandez (Jelly Belly), Michael Christensen (Designa Kokken) and Filip Rudenstorm (Sprocket) and Marin Andelini (Meridiana))
Spoiler
Sergio Hernandez (Jelly Belly) 16
Michael Christensen (Designa Kokken) 12
Filip Rudenstorm (Sprocket) 10
Marin Andelini (Meridiana) 8
Christian Knees (Milram) 6
Aleksandr Kuschynski (Liquigas) 4
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma) 2
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma), Lars Boom (Rabobank), Ben Greenwood (Rapha Condor) and Andrew Tennant (Motorpoint) joined the breakaway.
Spoiler
Sergio Hernandez (Jelly Belly) 6
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma) 4
Michael Christensen (Designa Kokken) 2
The breakaway splits up in two groups.
Kaisen, Tennant, Boom, Hernandez; +52" Greenwood, Christensen, Rudenstorm, Andelini; +10'23" P.
Spoiler
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma) 5
Andrew Tennant (Motorpoint) 3
Lars Boom (Rabobank) 1
Patterson Sprint.
Spoiler
Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma) 6
Ben Greenwood (Rapha Condor) 4
Sergio Hernandez (Jelly Belly) 2
15,3km to go. Olivier Kaisen attacked and it seems that he want to go for the victory alone.
Kaisen; +18" Group Tennant; +2'22" P.
Why ever, Alberto Contador joined again the relay work.
10km. Looks pretty good for Olivier Kaisen.
Kaisen; +28" Group Tennant; +2'17" P.
5km. And still 1 1/2 minutes for Kaisen.
Kaisen; +37" Group Tennant; +1'38" P.
The sprint begins. I do not know why, but Olivier Kaisen losed much ground and will probably lose his lead.
The peloton: At the left, we can see Iglinskiy and Davis, Popovych at the backwheel of the australian. In the center, we Goss and Cavendish, Wrolich and Ciolek, at the right Zabriskie, Farrar and Keough.
With 800m left, Kaisen is passed. Tyler Farrar is in front, and it seems that nobody can beat him, Ciolek and Davis are already to far behind him.
Tyler Farrar gives today a lesson to Cav, Ciolek etc. Incredible strong sprint by the american. Ciolek, Cav and Davis finished 2nd-4th.
Yaroslav Popovych showed again that he is a decent sprinter, finishing 6th today.

Pretty good result for us. Farrar is unbeatable at the moment, if he have such a shape in July, he could be the favourite for the green jersey.

Giro d'Italia
Stage 11: Lucera - L'Aquila, 259,2 km
The longest stage of this years Giro d'Italia. Classified as hilly stage, it should be a good one for a breakaway, and with that long distance, we have to look not to lose time to one of the classic specialists like Cunego
Team goals:
- No time loss / Defend the leader jersey (Machado, Paulinho, Leipheimer)
Favourites: Damiano Cunego, Vincenzo Nibali, Michele Scarponi, Ivan Basso, Sergio Paulinho
My tip: It is a hard profile. With this distance and that terrain, I think Damiano Cunego as 3 times Giro di Lombardia winner is a good bet here.
