1st - Gilbert
2nd - Rodriguez
3rd + 12" - Anton
4th +14" Nibali
Great finish by Gilbert there, big big gap.

Interviewer of Gilbert "3rd day of the vuelta and it is hot hot hot, what else do you have to say?". What sort of a question is that?

Yeah that guy has a massive support in Australia. He might be named for the Worlds? |

Gilbert already my main fav for the worlds...
Impressive win today, perhaps tomorrow for 2/2, however the final climb is very steep (up to 27%)... I guess tomorrow will be for purito |

I'd love to see Gilbert win the Worlds. The fact that he was so good today just shot down that idea pretty hard.

Gilbert has always seemed to me to be really good at holding great form for a long time (i.e. his dominating from Het Volk through March and still being strong into the classics season of April a couple years back). What has he been doing since the spring? |

Both A.Schleck and Vande Velde lost 14 minutes today, guess we can rule them out of the GC fight...Was expecting this from Schleck but i expected better from Vande Velde. Also Intxausti lost nearly 20 minutes

Vande Velde already said before the Vuelta that he wouldn't be a factor in the GC. I wasn't expecting him to lose 14 minutes today but I guess part of the reason must have been because he has no chance of winning anyway. Still kinda sad. I hope he didn't crash. |

Anton on such a short hill already 3rd best.
Just you wait till the high mountains.
How awesomely right i'll be by giving Anton higher MO stats than F.Schleck
F.Schleck who was total suckage on a hill which should suit him perfectly. woh everyone but me said he was going to be overall winner
Suck this |

First cycling I caught live in a little while, actually knew the roads quite well having been 'fortunate' enough to holiday in the area before!
The finale is a bit of a tough one as we saw, Gilbert was the obvious winner but Rodriguez is continuing that awesome season - how long can this guy go on for?
Nibali, Anton, Roche, Menchov, Mosquera, Arroyo and Schleck look pretty good.
Hmm Sky going to struggle to get through the next few days without losing another guy! |
