Isn't it the other way around? Not that I remember who was invited last year, I just doubt that BMC was invited last year.

They were there. https://www.cyclin...d=MTkxMjY=
Also, Saur-Sojasun didn't participate last year, but this year they will.

Federal authorities investigating allegations that Lance Armstrong and other top cyclists engaged in doping are considering whether they can expand the investigation beyond traditional drug distribution charges to include ones involving fraud and conspiracy, according to two people briefed on the investigation.
https://www.nytime...wt=nytimes
In other words....this may soon turn from an investigation into cheating at sports....into a criminal investigation

I was happy for some reason when i first heard of Landis making these claims. But not anymore, he looks like a jealous little girl. Pretty much everyone who cares knows Armstrong was doped but why do they need to tell the whole world now. And what is even more confusing is why are all these investigations going underway now just because some prick with no credibility makes these claims? They should of done it 8 years ago, but now seems a little late. |

Well to make perhaps an exaggerated comparison.
Theres a murder, with multiple suspects - but the police do not have enough evidence on any of them to press charges, and so the crime goes unsolved.
8 years later, someone who was an accomplice of one of those suspects at the time, makes the claim about who committed the murder - and not only that - but giving great detail about the technique/methods used.
Even though the person making the claim has served 2 years in prison since, for a separate offense, the authorities would surely investigate it nonetheless - to see if there is any truth in the claim. They certainly wouldnt say that, as the murder was 8 years ago, its not really relevant to know who the murderer is anymore.

And for anyone who thinks the Feds don't have the balls to do something, this is an example of how they deal with doping cases in pro sports:

Yea but surely the UCI and USA cycling new he was on drugs ages ago. Everyone from Basso, Vino to Ullrich was banned. And he beat them all by 10 minutes Its just that i don't get why they could stand all the pressure from before, but as soon as Landis makes a claim we already know they bow to the pressure. Anyway, i guess i have no problem with them exposing the truth, its just the weird way they are going about it. |

I think it's quite simple with Armstrong, the UCI and even USA cycling. it's all purely financial.
if he was caught, it'd kill cycling in the US, sponsors would disappear everywhere and the UCI would lose a fortune. and its credibility would be shot.
but now Floyd has gone public and made all these accusations, and it's in the limelight with everyone talking about it, bodies outside the sport, like the feds, have to get involved. they don't have a choice, especially seeing as US postal was related to the government.
but i bet somewhere there is a guy from the UCI or USA cycling saying to the feds, nah don't worry about it, it's cool, we'll sort it out ourselves, just leave it to us, we promise to take care of it

Not knowing where you are in Canada (big country, I know, so don't laugh at the following point).
GP de Quebec
GP de Montréal
Both pro tour this year.
And now you're going to say, but i'm like 1000 miles way.

And US pro cycling is better and better? No seriously. There are only two big races in US - Tour of Califonia and Philadelphia Criterium. And there are only 2 big teams - Shack and Garmin. Is really pro cycling in US "better" in 2010 than in 2000?

Distance From Winnipeg to Montreal:
If you go via Northern Ontario: 1,470 Miles (2,366 Kms)
If you go via the US: 1,711 Miles (2,754 Kms)
Distance from Winnipeg to St. Louis (Missouri)
Distance is 1362 kilometers or 846 miles.
Ok so Missouri is slightly closer.
Not knowing where you are in Canada (big country, I know, so don't laugh at the following point).
Thats alright. It is a big Country I guess.
But I had no clue that they were PT this year. Might go and check them out.
Sorry to be exact. I had to.

Its somewhat of an issue if if 846 miles is local
Say, valv, out of curiousity, how many competitive cycling races are there within 200 miles of you? Regardless of category. I can imagine it being very few if Missouri is local.

Meanwhile, Chad Gerlach is now telling the feds what he knows.
Or, according to Chad himself
Gerlach joins Federal inquiry! I remember when Levi was young and he used to buy EPO from Gaggiolli. Yeah i loved to get high, but when the **** hit the fan, only a real asshole, digs deeper! I can't wait to tesstify in Congress. I'll give up every champion from 95 thru 2002. It gets worse. Cool, California, we remember T, you'll B there too!

BMC will let Ballan race again. He cooperated with everyone to 100% and there were no clues after that that he was involved into the Lampre scandal. So they respect the presumption of innocence and until anything else is proven, he will be able to race. |

And just in case someone isn't sick of doping cases:
From Ivan Dominguez's twitter:
Another bad news is coming to cycling not good
about 14 hours ago via Echofon
Nothing to do with TofMO guys. Just wait for the news, I'm telling you is not good for a lot of people
about 13 hours ago via Echofon
From Joe Papp's twitter:
#notfloydlandisgate more grim rumors swirling around cycling - what, was last week Hiroshima and now its Nagasaki?
And from Thor Hushovd
pleased that this spring has been relatively few doping cases.
But there's probably something that is about to uncover in Italy, so we'll wait and see what it is,
