Obviously it's cool to talk shit about Lance in cycling forums, gives you a lot of credibility.
You know what doesn't give you any credibility? Ignoring facts and presenting none of your own. Like you just did |

There's Armstrong making a living hell out of the lives of anyone who tried to come to public with evidence that he was doped, using his political leverage to make people lose their jobs (his Oakley liaison Stephanie, anyone?), credibility, race wins, contracts. heck, he flat out told Vaughters that if he gave Matt DeCanio a contract with Garmin, armstrong would have Trek withdraw sponsorship of the team.
Armstrong is the face of the omerta. he's the one most concerned with upholding it, and has demonstrated it time and time and time again.
This is intresting part..wasn't also Lemond part of that Trek case?..and some extra after possibility to loose Trek contract. I have some nasty talks about your childhood.
Question is where he is getting all that info. He must had card catalog as Hoover had. |

let me just say something as an American, some of us are above the Lance is god, Astana must be clean, and the French are trying to screw all Americans over crap.

Ask whoever started the discussion.

Careful good sir, that Lance and his mafia don't come after you...every-other detracter has been dispensed of and I would hate to see an article with"Isso disappears...bike also missing...a Texan sunset ride was his last know destination"
As long as I stick to facts (which I do), nobody can do a damn thing.

Let's face it, 1). Lance has brought a heighten interest to the Tour which can only be good for sponsorships for everyone.
He brought a heightened interest to the Tour alone, and only in the USA.

2). Americans will never accept that one of their own will dope, (Landis for example: blame the French lab).
That much is true
HEY!
I'm american, and I admit Lance dopes.
I just also admit all your favorite cyclists dope as well.
Schlecks? Dopers.
Menchov? Doper.
Evans? Doper.
Sastre? Doper.
Gesink? Doper.
Show me a rider who has finished in the top 5 in a grand tour since Lemond last won... and I'll show you a doper.
What's odd is people get mad at Americans who think Lance is clean... but then defend "their guy" because he hasn't been caught doping yet.
They are ALL doping. Just enjoy the cycling and forget about who's on what drug. I can appreciate Lance staring Ullrich down and then destroying him on a mountain regardless of their respective drug usages. Same way I can appreciate Ricco and Di Luca constantly attacking, Menchov's ability to hold on despite attacks in the Giro or Patani's drug aided climbing.
I'm probably in the minority, but doping doesn't bother me. Since I believe everyone is on something, I figure they're all even anyway... so the best on dope would still be the best off dope... so what does it matter? |

That would be the bad part.
The good part is we'll see much more people risking it with long-range attacks (hopefully) |

I posted my last response prior to your "stop posting" statement (or at least I started typing it before I read it).

I don't think at all that the excitement for the Tour is gone now since Astana is in such a dominant position. We'll probably see many riders be a lot more agressive than they would be otherwise which will make watching the race quite fun. However, I agree that beating Contador when he has such a lead already is highly unlikely, considering also the fact that he's going to beat almost all the good climbers in the other TT as well.
About Menchov.. I haven't followed cycling as much in the past years as I used to but when exactly was the last time that a rider who clearly was in top form in the Giro has been good in the Tour. Pantani in -98? Menchov was at his absolute best already during the first week of the Giro and kept the form all the way through so I didn't think he was going to do anything big anyway. Sastre was also good during the last week of the Giro but I have much more belief in him doing something in the mountains than Menchov for some reason. He has lost the GC though since he is going to lose some time in the TT as well.
I'm excited to see Andy Schleck in the mountains as the last time I saw him was in the Giro where he took second 2 (?) years ago. It will be also interesting to see how Astana copes with the Astana vs everyone else situation that is probably going to happen. Astana has to pull all the breaks back without help most likely but of course they have pretty good riders for the mountains. Just waiting for the finish in Andorra to see what happens.. |

I am thinking here. We should stop wining about it..tour is so..so young. I f Astana thinking it is over...then I don't. |
