Beja
First day in Portugal..and sprinters should take this one..
..and mass sprint it is..Contentpolis - Ampo at the front..working for Gastanaga..Pinto is in great position.
..and all out Aleksejs Saramotins is leading..Gastanaga..Herrero..Tombak..Pinto is great has always..
Gastanaga and Tombak taking ower..this is a little to fast for Pinto..
..close one..
..and line Gastanaga just managed to hold he's lead position against Tombak atack..Pinto 4th. is superb result. If I am looking sprinter to Vuelta I would prefer any moment Pinto..Manuel Cardoso is faster when he is in best shape..but clearly more unstabile sprinter.. Youngtser Pinto is taking always max. possible result.

Second stage and we will take first climbs..it is time to find out Guerra condition..
Moncoutie ..over 60km. tp go. Looks like we can count Moncoutie out for overall contenders list..he is here after climber jersey.
and yesterday stage winner Hilton Clarke..tour leader can not follow..
32km. to go..this is first serious move Cuesta atack..
Herrada counter... he looks strong..passes Cuesta and just keep on pushing.
Now Herrada has cought early breakaway rider teammate Czuzhda..planned?..at least looks like well built tactic
Tempo has been fast..just select group left..Guerra is in..He does not looks good at all.

You are in great form at all fronts..well done.It was magnificient to see Pinto´s win,as i told you before,i expected that you win at my town,you just passed trought and won 80km´s after,i´ll consider that one as a victory at my town.Thanks. |

..strange situation..but what we can do. Own team speed has droped race leader..Pinto..they need to keep pushing to catch breakaway riders..

Now we should defend our leader jersey..Plaza looking already good enough to start Vuelta..also would be nice to keep Ribeiro in 3rd spot. But last TT will tell..
27km. to go..Morreno and Ferrari atack..right after that Moreno has a technical problems..what a bad moment..
another atack wave..Javier Etxarri started this one..
Then Golcer GC 2nd place holder..this is time to react for Plaza..
Lead group was formed..ten Golcer again..short atack..Plaza follows..he wont let this rider out of he's site..
Last uphill ...lead group ...someone will atack? Good to have also Ribeiro in that group..
..but no ..they decided to have a stage winner in mass sprint..green jersey owner Herrero is hugh favorite now..
..and he takes a lead inside final km. Simon Geschke and Clement trying to challange..
Herrero holding a lead against Geschke...now it will be hard to beat him in points competition.. Plaza is just happy that another day is over..
