I said he is an idiot because he actually did a short sprint when he saw Pozzato. Except Pozzato still had one lap to go.
I know, thats why I agreed, especially because he panicked when he saw Pozzato behind him, even though he probably had the DS saying ""he's a lap behind" right then
Or he did that cause he didn't want to have Pozzato in his finishing photo

How is it funny???
Boonen just got lucky, I think he was the favorite but he didn't win on skill |

Except the photo everyone remembers is taken with the cameras facing the riders. So Pozzato was on the photo anyway. If he didn't want him in the picture he should have just let him go.

I feel sorry for Hushovd. He looked really strong and he would have fought with Boonen for the win

It's not funny
I believe that three spectators are pretty badly injured and another 10 with scratches... From what I could see they weren't on the road either. |

pff u can all whine about how lucky he was but fact is he won and he deserved it imo.
As they say in Dutch 'Geluk dwing je af' (freely translated 'u make ur own luck'
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.

Agreed, tough luck for Flecha, Hushovd, and Hoste today.
Flecha looked very strong, and could possibly have gotten away to win.
Hushovd could have beaten Boonen had they come to the Velodrome together.
And Hoste had a teammate, so he could have pulled something off with help from Vansummeren |

Exactly, I was just pointing out that there is nothing funny about that crash |

I find it kinda silly that people keep saying it was all about luck for Boonen. Sure, the other riders crashed, and Boonen did not, but that just proves what a world class rider he is, knowing how to position himself at the right place at the right time.
Something thats really sad about this race, besides the motor cycle crash is how the spectators treated Pozzato. |

But when Boonen had a problem, the others waited.
People expected Boonen to do the same.

to be honest i agree with smitho, you have got to admit it was a laugh! They were on the road, that is ridiculous. those spectators are the ones that should be locked up as duffield said!!!! As for that silly cow that ran across the road on pipo - pfff what a joke! |

Or at least to ride at the same pace he was doing before the crash and not put in a massive attack |
