For sure Cav made mistakes today...
Also mistakes that cost Tony the yellow jersey.
But I wouldn't call Cav a "dirty rat". Dege also once started a sprint from 300m. Mistakes happen. Thats how it is.

What are you on about? This is GT racing, they are meant to be difficult and anyway how is the race destroyed?
I would say that today was a really exciting stage from start to finish and that is without mountains too |

Cav looks over and should see Cancellara before he stops pedalling, so he should have known he was there. Chances are he probably thought he had enough speed aswell as being focused on the stage win.

Soo Kelderman on 5 minutes.
Kelderman's gonna do a Kruijswijk this TdF!
Well he at least has a chance of getting away from the main GC guys now
I hope they give him a free role and don't let him work for Gesink, who I do not have much faith in anyway, to be honest.
Wilco in tomorrow's break.
Agree with you that they shouldn't go all in for Gesink, he hasn't shown any reason to be sole leader. They should just give there riders a free role and go stage hunting, plus I still think Wilco can go top 10
Still Top 10? Maybe if he gains time in breaks or something, but I can't really see that happening anymore, unfortunately.
5 mins is a lot, after all, and Top 10 was never gonna be easy anyway.

Watched the german ARD interview with Tony. Looked to me like he almost cried on his bike.
Keep Fighting Tony.

Get out of here , one of the better week one Tour de France stages in recent memory. Most of the time gaps were established through legitimate hard work and no one had to retire from the race due to injury.

RIP Lotto NL. Gesink the only one of their 4 who survived - attacks in the mountains inc?
Pleased with the way they managed to keep the advantage relatively under control, Dowsett definetely showing his worth today. Quintana still not comfortable in these situations - he doesnt have to be tho.
Some of who lost 05.04:
Kelderman
Zubeldia
Rolland
Kruijswijk
Ten Dam
Navarro
Valls Ferri
Jungles
Adam & Simon Yates
Poels
Majka
Arredondo
Hesjedal (:lol
Meintjens
Kudus
Also a rough welcome to the Tour for Anacona, haha. Down at least 2 times today. |

Points classification in the Giro and 2nd in Tirreno GC were always almost exclusively for Pro Conti teams for sure.

I thought this stages was interesting, the tour is still far from finished for Quintana and Nibali, i was allot more concerned after the Ax 3 Domaines stage where Froome destroyed everyone two years ago. I doubt Conta will last 3 weeks, so Nibali and Nairo only have to take a minute on Froome, that's not impossible.

BTW Contador lost 4 more seconds to Froome. He is now 12 seconds down. Rookie mistake not expected from him, let gap open towards end. Or just suffering already maybe. |

@Riis
Ten Dam confirmed that is the plan, at least for himself. I suppose it will be Kelderman, Ten Dam and eventually Kruijswijk taking turns for attacks in the mountains.
Would be awesome to see Kelderman going into the break tomorrow, although might not be overly realistic, but I'll be able to cheer him on in real life for the first time ever tomorrow

Cancellara
Van Garderen for making Froome gain 4 seconds on Contador
Froome has this race in the bag if Conta can't drop him in echelons |

Nibali has to go banana's now if he wants to win the Tour.
Quintana as well in the mountains. I rather have Nibali and Quintana whole and losing time then to crash out, because then it will be an epic Tour |
