Wellens got his top 10, great progress for him. It makes me doubt about his future again, puncheur or stage racer?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Great race from Valls. He's had a pretty good season since swapping over to Lampre.

3 riders ending in the same time after two time trials, one altitude finish and yesterday? Wtf, I feel bad for Rui Costa.
Bad ride for Fuglsang today after he has been rather impressive in the mountains so far. |

Puncheur + one week stage racer. For GTs we have to wait and see what he does in the Tour. |

Yeah, pretty much. He was a beast in Lombardia e.g, I hope he gets a free role in the Ardennes. Eneco & Paris-Nice have shown that he can take two kinds of short stage races very well. I actually prefer him to be a stage hunter in GTs, most GT contenders, who arn't part of the top tier riders, ride pretty dull in those 3 weeks usually. No need for a second VDB in Lotto's outfit, plus his performance in the Giro last year was really great.

THIS!
Hopefully Lotto do the right thing by him and let him development into whatever rider he will be, VDB was never a true GC contender and now look at him. Wellens is a good talent who could claim some nice races

He still did okay, clearly he isn't there yet but it was a good performance and bodes well for the season ahead

So predictably Portechkin absolutely smashes the TT. |

Watching the Gallopin start it seemed like something was wrong. He wasnt even putting in an effort, and then my thoughts were confirmed at the half way check. Any news on if he had an injury or something?
Good win by Porte
I really hope Spilak gets the TDF leadership this year, even though I know he wont.
Last point is I believe Kwiatkowski really really hurt himself riding a TT bike on a MTT.

Anyone knows why Costa got 4th place and not the 2nd or 3rd? Porte is a beast in time-trial, especially in a mountain time-trial.

P.S. I felt bad for Gallopin but honestly, TT is not his thing for real

You're wrong he his a good TTist but the problem is that it was not a flat TT it was a TT for climbers and Gallopin isn't a climber so it was pretty obvious he would lost the GC leader. |

Gorka Izagirre is really doing fine this season, second Top 10 result after Down Under. Hope he gets to ride the Giro for stage hunting glory alongside his bro.

He is not a bad TT-ist, actually. Maybe he didn't recover well from the day before. He spent a great amount of effort there. I think only top GT riders (e.g. Contador, Nibali, Quintana) are able to do big attacks and be fully recovered (more or less) the day after.
