Pretty sensational stuff from Andalucia - very surprised to see Bertie dropped like that. Unfortunate in some ways that froome isn't doing the giro as that would be one hell of a battle. Today underlined to me that Conta Giro and Froome Tour us likely scenario. Conta will need a controlled nice Giro, I cannot see that happening in today's world.
Oman had a bad day for me TVG comment on cycling news is interesting, I wonder if he wished he had come to Spain instead?

Really a pity as they started the Haut Var pretty good with 2 in the top 10.
Really hope Wegmann can perform a bit better this year as leader in several races.

It'd be fun indeed, but he'd probably be even more useless than Wiggins in Giro.
Impressive riding on Froome's part. Both riders look very solid this early, which Nibali proves once more is not a given when you come out of winter.

I might be mistaken, but hasn't this hapenned in that region on France, to other teams? |

Lobato wins again in Andalucia. Another fantastic sprint by him, and an easy win for him. |

Holy shit. Lobato didn't even break any sweat, what a dominant win. That was scarily good.

Impressive sure, but he's up against a Degenkolb in less than top form, and very little else, while he has clearly been strong since the season started. If he can keep this up all season I'll be massively impressed though. |

Degenkolb just beat Valverde on a 15% gradient finish in Dubai 2 weeks ago saying he's less than top form that's very harsh. So far all MSR contenders are showing great form and he's definitely not far from it considering it's less than a month now to MSR. There's only one race left for Degen before MSR. Yes, he's no at his peak considering he's peaking through MSR to PR, but gotta give kudos to Lobato.

Yes, but what did he do in the sprints in Dubai? Fuck all. Lobato also outsprinted Froome who beat Contador on a 20% gradient finish yesterday, does that make it even more impressive?

Yeah absolutely, it's been very impressive from Lobato all race, no two ways about it. Just feel as though Degenkolb is holding back, as Dippo said he wasn't up there in the sprints in Dubai and his peak will surely be later. Saying that, Lobato has definitely made a step up this season so far. Should make for an interesting MSR. |

Greipel also with his first season win. Nice podium here.
Geraint Thomas wins the overall.

A little runthrough of the races from my perspective:
Andalucia - watched the two mountain stages and kinda had buried the race after Contadors impressive win, but Froome was scary on the second day. Intxausti did very well as the team leader while Lobato simply was unstopable. Bardet kinda as expected a few levels under Froome and Contador and still has some work to do.
Oman - too bad that the hilly stage was cancelled as it looked interesting and would have been able to shake things up. I havent heard from Valls since 2010, what a performance. Van Garderen looks good once again early, but I doubt he will be able to do anything in the Tour anyways due to the lack of ITT. Had hoped for more from Valverde, but as always, very consistent. Qhubeka with 2 in the top-6, very impressive there.
Algarve - Geraint Thomas is one of the few riders I like from Sky, so I am actually happy to see him win. Porte continues his impressive climbing and Rein follows up on his good performance. Ruben Fernandez shows Australia wasnt a fluke, while Ion Izaguirre was very impressive on the climb, but lost too much elsewhere. Marc Soler, the neo pro from Movistar, did very well as well here and with Lobato + the riders i mentioned above, it doesnt look that bad for spanish cycling anyways which I am very glad to see.

Holy shit Froome is the most obviously doped human being I have ever seen. Him and Horner should share notes. |

Has seemed to slip under the radar but Thomas Dekker is currently attacking the Hour Record. Coverage on Eurosport is fairly poor though. No live distance graphics, and the on-screen clock is not matched to real-time (how the f*ck this happened i will never know!). Latest predictions have him missing the record somehwere in the 52.6's

Provisionally 52.250km for Dekker!
No record but comendable effort. The coverage however was utter f*cking sh*t! No accurate clock to even gauge the time left or passed. No distance data. F*cking shambles and the organisers really should be completely embarassed.
The Eurosport commentators did a decent job under the circumstances but oh lord that coverage was utter bollocks

Revised down to 52,221km but still under UCI review because this whole thing is a big f*cking joke of an attempt (not Dekkers fault though)
