Sicard ? His development margin was quite limited from the start, no matter how good he managed to become during one or two seasons in Spain...
Dude it's been years. You know very well you can tell everyone here what you know about Sicard without ever being sued
Since Carl Naïbo sued a guy who called him a doper (which he is/was) on cyclismag forum some years ago, I tend to be careful...
Anyway, for those who keep believing Sicard is a super talent who's going to win three Grand Tours the same year, prepare to put your hopes in the trash can...
Spoiler
Sicard was a real beast in his last espoir year, and was already very strong the year before, which was his first season in Spain. His marvellous espoir year culminated in a Tour de l'Avenir win overall, and an U23 World Champion title. He also won a race among the pros while still being riding for Euskaltel reserve team. Not bad, eh ?
So, some people at the French federation started investigating how on Earth it was possible that local federation members and local teams or clubs officials had been blind to such an amazing talent.
Turned out he was decently talented, twice National champion on track in age categories (Madison + scratch, arguably not the most significant events), third in his regional championship, etc. Nothing worth of a world beater.
Then he changed teams. And countries. He joined Orbea (Euskaltel junior team). And started improving, a lot, in just two seasons.
What had he done there ? You've figured it out. And he was/is a super responder to some products.
Eventually he turned pro, which is logical for such a super talent. But there are plenty of controls there, and the bio-passport. It's still possible to dope, I don't know if he does, but it's much more complicated than at the lower level. So, Sicard is hardly an average pro nowadays, and there's not much more to expect from him, unless he'd get access to a new wonder drug.
Sicard for G.C. this year, anyone ?

poor Sagan, no team for him again
Yeah, there was only Moser and not in the final km.Few greens were scatterd througout the pack, but barely holding there.
Still Peter was not so dominant, as everybody is in top form at Tour. Kwiatek almost got him.
Nice win for Bakelandts, i thought for a second that he is done.

I too bought into Taramae becoming a real contender, to go all Brando, eventually. I think this is the last straw, eh?
Taaramäe has some asthma problems, I'm afraid it might get as bad as in the spring again (he had pus in his lungs, not nice). Plus he got a nasty gash on his arm yesterday and needed stitches.
Really, really nice stage! I am happy for Bakelants, as he is quite likeable rider and I like his style of racing and it finally paid off with this big win! And really nice to see that Andy Schleck seems to be in a good form, it would be really great for the race itself if he would be able to challenge Contador and Froome. Kreuziger looks good as well, I am looking forward to the next stages, when I finally and actually will have time to watch stages mostly live.

Taaramae and Coppel lose 5 and 13 minutes respectively.
nice job Cofidis.
Taaramae hired himself lately new coach with he's own money..this was just wasting good years and potential to train himself..and making mistake after mistake. But it took 2 years to understand that.
He's spring was fiasko. Then Dauphine ..new start for a season. Even worse..
Asthma..70% lungs from regular 100%.
I knew he was bad. But still some how I am realy dissapointed.
Do not count him out. man is just 26..and he can be much-much better
Coppel is another over trained solo trainer.

Clue that Bakelandts is going to win the stage when watching the highlights programme: at 1km to go the commentary track changes to a version clearly re-recorded after the race by Liggett.
Wasn't sure what to cheer for at the end. Someone to stop Sagan winning, or accepting the Sagan win but having the bonus of Millar in Yellow Still, Bakelandts is a deserving winner and leader - nice for a rider to have his big break at the Tour.
