Okay he pinched someone's behind, let's hang him from the highest tree we can find and burn him!
This is what everyone discusses about the Ronde?
Maybe to bring up another discussion: old profile or new profile? I think the race was very closed, they always fear the final climbs so the final time Oude Kwaremont will probably always serve as the race-opener. Of course, the Muur was kind of the same, I believe. |

There is no discussion regarding that. The new route simply sucks.
Period.

Always this whining, at least they can keep racing with the extra money. They just have to tweak it a little, maybe do one of the loops earlier.

Can't believe we're still talking about that incident, are we cycling fans or feminists?
And of course, old Ronde ftw. You just can't replace the Muur with a few local laps.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Brilliant
I like the new profile, though it's far from perfect yet. I don't miss the Muur and enjoy Kwaremont and Paterberg, but 3 times is too much.
Anyway, Paris - Roubaix is next, thread up: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....d_id=28859 |

We wouldn't be talking about it if the race was interesting. Nothing happened until Fabian made his move! Lotto made some moves but no-one cared as all eyes on were on the big 2.
With this startlist i doubt the old route would have a better race. It was all about whether Sagan could follow Fabian.

About this whole role model thing, I would hope that most people are reflective enough not to orientate their actions to their sport heroes. I hardly think that many men will go outside tomorrow and be like "hey let's all grab some woman's butt because Sagan did it". Now I know, that's not how it works, and it's definetely sending a wrong signal to pretend like this is just a silly joke, because in many, probably most situations, it's not. But in my opinion, the real, maybe the only question is whether the woman was offended. If yes, Sagan should be ashamed, if they new each other and it was just a little joke, it's no big deal to me. I'm just saying, maybe one shouldn't underestimate the people's ability to make their own choices.

Can't we be both? Utterly moronic. I'd rather watch a sport that didn't contribute to the continued objectification of women.

Downloaded the race today. The first half of the race was pretty boring for me, but it always is with highlights.
Once Cancellara went with Sagan and Kwiatowski it was pretty exciting but I was hoping for a bit more from the pack behind. It really only ever seemed like it was between Canc and Sagan.
Good win for Cancellara, Sagan showed that he is a very strong rider, certainly one of the more exciting riders around. I think he felt he had to contribute to the efforts on the front, and as sportsmanlike as it is to take turns on the front, I think tactically it would have been better for him to just sit on Canc's wheel. That said with what Canc showed it may have been pointless as he looked too strong in the final few kms.
Also quite an eventful post-race it seems too

You just cannot be objective.

Also Sagan is flirting with the podium girls all the time, who knows maybe he bangs half of them, are you just jealous?
ou dear..
That jealousy thing was just a joke, i hope it was obvious even without a smiley.
And you are probably right about me and Sagan discussions (while i hope it is not that bad all the time, but that is others job to let me know if i am too unobjective, i dont know), but this case would have exactly same reply from me, even with every other rider than Peter. This is universal thing for me, not matter the rider. Unfortunetely, other riders are boring most of the time.

About the role model thing. You should be smart enough to make up your own mind. So a famous person grabs a women's ass on tv. So what! You are you and not that famous person. No reason to do the same and think of the possible consequences when you do something.
I seriously think it was a good joke. Of course Sagan's wrong. He should bear the consequences.
It would've been even funnier had the podium girl turned around and slap Sagan in the face. And deserved too. |
