That would be great. I'd love to see riders like Giacoppo get a chance on a larger international stage.

Indeed. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if they got a few domestique riders from ProTour teams to join them. People like Tanner for instance who doesn't get a lot of race leadership. Maybe even Rogers if he disappoints this season?

Laurent Mangel (FDJ) got a "no show" notification by the UCI because the controllers couldn't find him. Instead he was... attending an UCI meeting within their head quarters in Switzerland. |

"We couldn't find you, where were you?"
"I was in a meeting"
"A meeting? Where? With who?"
"With... you... you where there"
"How do you know where I was?!"
"Because I was there with you"
"Where?!"
"In the meeting!"
"Meeting? With who?!"
*continue this for about 30 minutes. For added realism, imagine one of them asking "Who's on first?"

Still funny that Merckx complained though. In his time he only got time penalties for his doping crimes.... the hypocrite |

Uhm, no.
This would be the first half
https://www.imdb.c...tt0068646/
And this would be the second
https://www.imdb.c...fn_al_tt_1
Anyway, I just finished reading the William Hill Sports Book of the Year, Tyler Hamilton's book.
Good book. I liked it. My favorite part was the one where Dr. Ferrari tells Lance that the steroid use caused his cancer in the first place

English summary: Merckx initially stated he felt betrayed by Armstrong, but now claims the journalist bent his words.
Also, Merckx was busted three times: the first time was very dubious and the sentence was quashed, the second time he was caught with cough sirupe and the third time he admitted to having used pemoline which was also used by Zoetemelk in '77.
It's completely different from winning seven Tours on dope and denying it for more than ten years, sueing people who accuse you along the way.
Also, I think it's rather hypocrite to blame Merckx, who is generally considered to be the best cyclist to date, for minor incidents ( "doping crimes" ) while the cyclists who, judging by your profile picture and banner, is your hero was suspended for two years for using epo.
No offence, though, just saying...

Danny Nelissen admits to using epo in '96 and '97, while he was riding for Rabobank.
He says they had to use doping, because riders from other teams would laugh at the Rabo team, because they couldn't keep up with the rest. He also says that he never bought doping himself, and that he never saw a team mate dope, because the team doctor would inject epo, and of course only one rider could be treated at the same time.
Nelissen does, however, swear he did not use doping when he became world amateur champion in 1995.

The (in)famous "yeah, I doped a lot, but there's no way I was doping when I won [insert the name of one of the biggest victory of the rider's career]".
I'm not saying he did, but that story has been heard 1000 times. |

Always believed that the Rabo-team was clean, especially because Michael Boogerd couldn't win more than 1 time the AGR and 1 Tour-stage (okay, 1 in '96 in his first tour).
But now I start to believe that they also joined the EPO-clan, and Boogerd didn't win more because he was to stupid to win because of a lack of "cycling-intelligence".
All I can think now, is: note all that was wrong, learn from it and start with a clean sheet in the present time, because I believe that 95% of all cyclists are clean (but didn't I believed that before???)

What? Are you talking about the present? Didn't you mean 9,5%?

Why does international media use google translate to translate articles nowadays? and why does none of them do any fact-checking
lequipe, marca even german media have all mistranslated the NRC article. The original story states that all whistleblowers say Rabobank changed dramatically after 2007 (Thomas Dekker statement the most obvious example), but some retard at lequipe made the article so that it says rabobank used doping from 1996-2012, misquoting the original article.
Great. This is why media suck |

I can only agree, but to defend those media, Menchov was still there after 2007 (but not until 2012 though). |
