I just would like to see them in Topsport but please just choose team YOU! want not us! You had some motivational issues before so choose a team that you will like to play with. Smile

I agree with Juan. Don't choose a team you don't like. So if you don't really like Argos, don't choose Argos. Otherwise, choose Argos Wink

Sounds alright to me Wink

Come on, I miss a day or 2, and you've raced Austria (nice results there) and you're wondering what team to ride for....

About the team: the one you feel the most motivation coming up Wink
But when I'm the one to decide, I say the choice is between Argos and Topsport. With Topsport, they'll be team leaders, and should do something great the next year and then will be picked up by soome great WT-team. With Argos, they have races that they'll be leader, but also domestique for Kittel and Degenkolb. But that also will improve their abilities. So I'd say Argos.

So many reactions, unbelievable. Sorry but I won't answer them individually now Grin

The general idea is Argos <-> Topsport (with a few exceptions).
To be honest, those two where the ones I thought of first. I think it's a really hard choice because both teams are really nice and both teams would boost my motivation a lot Pfft So I'll think about it for a while more.
Though if they'd go to Topsport for 1 year, it isn't impossible that they might end up with Argos after all, maybe even the next year...

Tough decisions... Pfft Thanks for the big support!

GP di Arona

Back in Italy, we are ready for two consecutive one-day races. One with a hilly profile, one with a flat profile. One for each.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona01_zpsa118e97b.jpg

Today features a hilly criterium in and around Arona.

Stijn Van Gent

Italy is known for it Catholicism, Arona isn't any different. It was a real treat to ride in the peloton today, the weather conditions were excellent, the atmosphere was great and the town Arona is beautiful!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona02_zps25a27f2f.jpg

I decided to make myself useful, so I volunteered for the chase. I pulled the peloton, with Dockx for approximately 80km.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona03_zpsa5d98fc8.jpg

Later in the race, I dropped out and started recuperating for tomorrow. Clearly I'm in a decent shape now, so I'd like to go for a nice sprint tomorrow!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona06_zps474e6138.jpg

I still finished a surprising 21th. So that form is really coming along.

Willy Wouters

Stijn kept the pace high all day, I can't thank him enough for that! With 70km left to go, I decided to start the race. Crack it up a notch!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona04_zps0f2e814e.jpg

One round later, I held a lead of about one entire loop.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona05_zps47001087.jpg

But alas, a group of 9 caught me one round from the finish. The winner would be decided in a small sprint.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona07_zpsa2e9538b.jpg

Moreno seemed unhuman and left everyone behind.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona09_zpsa1c4bcb4.jpg

He took the win and I finished 4th, not bad at all! Especially not after a 65km solo.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/arona10_zps3614ccd2.jpg

Hell, I might even start thinking that the suspension wasn't that bad after all. It seems I've developed in some ways I didn't think I would. Besides stage races, I'm starting to develop some strength necessary for one day races. Maybe I can even get ambitions to ride the Ardennes Classics! But that's far from my mind, Grand Tours are my first and only dream so far!

GP di Stresa

The second race in the two one-day races here in Italy. Yesterday, Willy came incredibly close to a win. He already scored points in a Time Trial, but still hasn't had a victory on the road yet.
Stijn is without victories too. Being a sprinter, it would be nice to get some wins, obviously. Maybe today?

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa01_zps90c618b3.jpg

The profile isn't pancake flat, it's a tough day. That should be a plus for Stijn, who can handle tough races like no other!

Willy Wouters

I tried to attack at the start, so the team wouldn't have to work today. The guy in the officials car yelled something to me in Italian, but I didn't understand what he was saying.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa02_zps4e6c00ea.jpg

However, the attack amounted to nothing, so I spent the rest of the day protecting Stijn.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa03_zps94f96d49.jpg

We set up an improvised lead-out train, as Stijn told us he was feeling really good, and the competition seemed to have a harder time.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa04_zpsaeddef1d.jpg

The rest was up to Stijn!

Stijn Van Gent

Turning the final corner, Willy was leading me out. He lacks absolute speed on the flat, but it was a lead-out decent enough to get a good sprint!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa05_zps7fa22746.jpg

Then I was off myself. Thinking of nothing but that white line a couple hundred meters further. Could I make it?

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa06_zps739a4a20.jpg

And I did! VICTORY! My first professional win on the road! What a great day! I was so excited I nearly fell, trying to raise my arms so brusque!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa07_zpsc3c09467.jpg

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa08_zpsbb115f2c.jpg

This is amazing. The whole team celebrated with me. On the finish picture, you can also see Willy celebrating the win, after his great lead-out!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/stresa09_zps4e123663.jpg

Well, I don't know what to say here. I've finally managed to grab that victory. The feeling is indescribable, just a wave of warm happiness, it's amazing. I think this will open roads to new places, more victories.

We celebrated with the entire team yesterday evening. In a couple of days, we start the Tour of Wallonie. There are 4 sprinting stages, I hope I can hold this form and take it back to Belgium. We leave with the plane in three hours, so I'm going to cut this short now.

Oh, maybe just this: Team Argos - Shimano has attracted three more riders, the contracts are already signed: Tom Slagter, Steven Kruijswijk and Pieter Serry. It seems like there are only two spots left on the team. We might have to decide quickly!

We'll meet you back in Belgium,
Stijn & Willy

Congrats! Big moment for Stijn Smile As for the transfer, I kinda liked to see them go to Acqua i Sapone. I like the team and it would give the story another nice exotic touch. But I guess, I'm alone with that opinion Pfft

cunego59: I like the idea of making it more "exotic", I know what you mean. They are still under consideration! What a hard decision Pfft

sutty68: Thanks Grin Hopefully the first of many!

krisa: Thanks Wink

Jakstar22: How'd you know? Smile

You know what, I'll continue doubting about team choice, when we hit 10.000 viewers, I'll have a little party and decide! Thanks a lot for following!
