Vino is the biggest personality we have in the peloton. Hes the last really big star back from the Armstrong era.
Well, his attacking style is one thing, his character a completely different.
Even if you like his style of riding which is different to the mentioned Sky, Indurain style, still you can don`t like him for other things.
(Doping, buying races etc...)
Correct. |

Deserved victory for Vino, finally no boring sprint finnish with cavendish, also proud to be Dutch, although they haven't won anything they showed their strength, maybe track cyclist Teunis Mulder wil win a medal at the Keirin, we'll see |

I thought it was an excellent race, my wife even enjoyed it. This is what the Olympics is about - great sport I felt.
Obviously more thrilling that I know the area and to see the riders repeatedly climb box hill was something I loved.
GB have had enough from road cycling Worlds, Tour and a very strong procycling team. Wiggins is going to be massive favourite for the ITT now, such a shame the Cancellara is injured as well as Martin it seems would have been a good battle.
Great team work by Italy, Spain and Switzerland - Gilbert was pretty entertaining also. But of course who profits but the riders from smaller countries who followed the moves. Still it was their only chance and it goes to show once again that parcours are secondary to the riders - the riders make the race.
Great ride for the medallists - Vino looked hungry for one last big rider in the Tour and he got it.

This. He's not just a cheater, he's a pathological liar. He's that rare case of person who lies about anything and everything no matter how inconsequential, because he has pleasure in it.
The amount of stories of deceit involving him is staggering.

Its because of guys like you that cycling has such a bad fame.
You like cycling and constatly accuse riders of being doped, what will the other persons think?
Idiotic.
Not being sceptical makes doping more likely to occur and be acceptable.
Also I seriously doubt that anyone in the world except for people on this forum gives a shit about what someone here says.

Actually I once got an angry PM from a well known rider.
I said he was clean. English isn't his first language so he completely misunderstood what I was saying.
He was pretty angry at me.

Urán has to REALLY screw up to not win this. He's so much faster than Vino in a sprint, it's not even funny
Hey, Kurt Asle Arvesen thought Vino was the clear favourite in that finale. He has stated many times now that Vino is the better sprinter. |

Now i've read a couple of guys saying they dont like Vino. Then what do you like ? Boring Sky, Indurain and those kind of riders?
Vino is the biggest personality we have in the peloton. Hes the last really big star back from the Armstrong era.
Vino has in his entire career, attacked everytime he could. He rides the race from the front. He is so spectacular, and im so pleased to see him win. I did hope for him the whole Tour and now in this Olympic race. Congrats to the last and biggest personality we have left in cycling. Well deserved - Fantastic !
Hope he rides another season. Im sure with his aggression, pride and personality, he will decide to ride another season "as the Olympic champion".
And if people think he is not sympatic, then find and do your research in cycling memories. When Andrei Kiviliev died, Vino won a race and carried Kivilievs picture on the podium and cried till he couldnt stop. One of the most beautifull and sympatic move in the history of cycling.
That was a good one |
