Paris-Correze - Stage 1

August 5, 2011

Our Riders
i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Riders.jpg

We stay in France for this two-day race
featuring hills today and an easy flat stage tomorrow.
Lofkvist again is the favourite amoung odds makers
and if he can win today he should have
no problem holding yellow tomorrow.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/1.jpg

The KoM competition will be decided today with no climbs on stage 2.
It's a tough battle between Alexandre Pichot and Dominik Nerz.
But at the end of the day our man Pichot comes out on top
with 32 points to Nerz's 30.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/2.jpg

The breakaway is in sight when Brice Feillu attacks with 20kms to go.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/3.jpg

When the breakaway is pulled back
more of the favourites attack including Lofkvist.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/4.jpg

10kms to go and Lofkvist has opened up a gap
with Feillu in 2nd being chased by
Blel Kadri, Samuel Dumoulin and Cyril Gautier.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/5.jpg

Lofkvist is being tracked down by Kadri as Feillu drops into the chase group.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%201/6.jpg

Kadri won't catch him, Thomas Lofkvist is on a hot streak
winning in back to back race days!
Feillu hangs on to grab a top 5 as well.

Interview - Thomas Lofkvist

Q: You are starting to make it look to easy, just how easy was today's win?
A: Winning a bike race is never easy, but once you start to get in form and get in races with weak start list you can start to rack up a few wins.

Breaking News

Mresuperstar On The Move

Rumors are swirling that current manager of EA-Sony Ericsson, Mresuperstar, has been offered a managerial job for the 2012 season. After the news broke that the EA-Sony Ericsson team would be splitting up after the season, their manager decided to not take a contract with either team. And it looks like all his hard work with the team over the past 2 years has paid off as rumors suggest that Mresuperstar was offered a contract he just couldn't pass down. The question remaining is what team will Mresuperstar be managing in 2012?

The answer ...

Spoiler
We won't know until after the season  Mresuperstar won't give us anymore information then that it is a World Tour team and it isn't Sony Ericsson or
XBox-Mircosoft. Although he did say that those following those two teams would be given a separate fan site for the 2012 season.

So, where would you like to see Mresuperstar manage in 2012?

It also won't be XBox-Microsoft or Sony Ericsson either. But both teams will be followed with seperate story threads during the season. Which means if you do the math this story will split into 3 seperate stories for next season. Wink Which is something I think has never been done before, and I'm really excited for the new ideas I got planned. Smile

Keep Guessing Pfft

Never heard of three seperate stories in one, sounds like a massive challenge, but lets hope you pull it off, Good Luck Smile

Paris-Correze - Stage 2

August 6, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/Profile.jpg

Today is all about time bonuses and staying on your bike.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/1.jpg

Lofkvist pretty much seals his yellow jersey
at the sprint point picking up 6 bonus seconds.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/2.jpg

Brice Feillu takes the 6 seconds at sprint 2 to move from 5th to 4th overall.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/3.jpg

And Andrew Talansky takes the final 6 seconds
to move from 12th to 11th overall.
Followed by Lofkvist, who gets an additional 4 seconds.
So EA-Sony does everything right early into today's stage.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/4.jpg

EA-Sony does the majority of the chasing today
to keep Lofkvist from losing the overall lead to the breakaway.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/5.jpg

And the team does their job,
so now if Lofkvist can stay upright for the last 5kms
and he will win Paris-Correze.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/6.jpg

Lofkvist is right up front as Cofidis sets up
a good looking train for Samuel Dumoulin.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/7.jpg

He struggles to hang on to the back of Dumoulin's wheel
but does finish 10th, but more importantly wins the tour.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Paris-Correze/Stage%202/8.jpg

And Dumoulin doesn't disappoint either
as he uses the Cofidis leadout to perfection.

Interview - Thomas Lofkvist

Q: First congrats on your win, well deserved. Second we would like to get your thoughts about the news that broke yesturday that your manager signed with a World Tour team for next season.
A: I'm happy for him. He lead this team, to what looks to be promotion as each day goes by, in just two years! I thank him for all his hard work he put into this team, and I would be happy to reunite with him later in my career if possible. He has become a true friend to all the riders here at EA-Sony Ericsson.

This pan flat classic should test the sprinters, and the team hopes to do well as this one-day race is also a team goal, the objective being a top 5.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/1.jpg

The breakaway of the day consists of 13 riders.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/2.jpg

But as expected they are pulled back, leading us to the bunch sprint.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/3.jpg

EA-Sony Ericsson has a nice sprint train going, Pichot - Phinney - Keough.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/4.jpg

Pichot pulls off with a kilometer to go, riders without trains are trying to sprint by on the left.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/5.jpg

Keough kicks with 600 meters to the line,
he has to catch Gaetan Bille to get the win.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Dutch%20Food%20Valley%20Classic/6.jpg

And he does! EA-Sony finally sets up a sucessful sprint train
and delivers the win for Jake Keough,
his first as an EA-Sony member.

Interview - Jake Keough

Q: The team is really starting to fire on all cylinders, what was the key to your victory today?
A: My team, the gave me a great leadout and all I had to do was finish the job. Hopefully the team can take this hot streak into the USA Pro Cycling Challenge in a couple of days.

History

Inaugural Race

The Race

Set to be the most demanding bike race ever held on American soil, with racers experiencing breathless altitudes, day after day. The race will bring the high speeds, danger and adrenaline of professional cycling to elevations more than two miles high in some of the most picturesque terrain in the world—the Colorado Rocky Mountains. With altitudes and downhill peaks double what riders usually endure, the Colorado Rocky Mountains presented a course that is as much a part of the race as the riders themselves.

Team Expectations

It feels great to be back on American soil after all that time in France. The team supports a relative all American squad with the execption of Swed Kessiakoff and Aussie Hayman. Expectations are to show off the team to the American crowds and having 3 riders in the top 10 overall looks quite possible.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge - Stage 1

August 22, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/Profile.jpg

A short 8km flat prologue gets the riders underway here in Colorado.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/1.jpg

Tejay is the first EA-Sony Ericsson rider on the course
and puts an average time of 10'17" up.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/2.jpg

His time is then beat by the next 3 EA-Sony riders through.
Kessiakoff 10'08", Talansky 10'07", Phinney 10'03".

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/3.jpg

Patrick Gretsch does even better, putting up a time of 10'01".

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/4.jpg

Steven Cozza tries to get the fastest time back to EA-Sony
but comes a second short of Gretsch's time.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/5.jpg

Bert Grabsch can match his teammate either
coming in with a time of 10'04".

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/6.jpg

Then the overall favourites start
taking to the course starting with Rory Sutherland.
He goes 10 seconds slower then Gretsch.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/7.jpg

Tiago Machado can't match either, 17 seconds off the pace.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/8.jpg

Speaking of off the pace,
Peterson is the last EA-Sony rider of the day
and finishes 28 seconds behind Gretsch.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/USA%20Pro%20Cycling%20Challenge/Stage%201/9.jpg

The stage favourite is the last man to go,
and the last one to challenge Gretsch for the yellow jersey tomorrow.
But Kanstantsin Siutsou is no match for his teammate
just like everybody that came before him, +10 seconds.

Interview - Steven Cozza

Q: You just missed out on adding your name to list of winners this season for the team, but still a great performance. What's your role for the next 6 stages?
A: Protecting and chasing, all my fun was today. Maybe I will have another good time trial on stage 4, but I'm not sure my legs are suited for mountain ITT.
