Hey guys what's your experience with downloading ? I'm about to download all the Parts of the new db. My download rate is around 230 - 250 kb/s that means I need more than an hour for only one part !!! Is this normal... ?! |

Heya,
Just downloaded V1 and installed. Looks great.
Found a possible bug however regarding once again the selection of Spanish riders. I created a startlist for the Giro D'Italia, and went to play the Giro and simmed the TTT, I was stunned to see Saxo and Euskatel seven minutes down and then I discovered all their Spanish riders were missing (Only Euskatel rider was Cazaux).
However if you are to play the Giro without the self generated startlist this issue does not occur. Any quick fixes?
Thanks

Hi, I downloaded the V0.5-V1 one (after a downloaded V0.5 obviously). But I cannot seem to select the new V1 database. I can see it and select it as my default database, but cannot seem to select it as my 'current database.' Any ideas? Or should I just download the full V1 (which could take a while)
thanks |

I downloaded the 5 parts of the pcm daily expansion pack V1 and saved them in a folder on the desktop like it's written in the description. Than I downloaded the qtorrent file in the same folder. And now I have to open the qtorrent file and save it in the pcm folder, and than qtorrent starts to download, is this right so far ? |

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I started with a Custom Team and there were only Young Riders available from Belgium?? No other country gave young riders... I wonder if this will be the same when scouting?? |

Zanci93, not sure, have a look at what files the qtorrent file wants to download and see if they match the files you downloaded with Multiupload. If they are an exact match, there should be no reason why qtorrent wants to download them again. But I'm not an expert on torrents

For a custom team you just can sign young riders from te manager`s country.
So as Belgium just Belgiums. |

Seems great! Is the V1 compatible with the latest patch?

Has this been changed in the PCMDaily DB because with the original game I could select young riders from different countries... |

I am currently downloading the file using uTorrent. When it's finished, do I just click on the .exe-file and it will then ask me which directory I wish to install it in? And will it then be Program files->Cyanide->PCM2011?
When it's done downlading it will automaticly be placed in My Documents-> Downloads, does this matter or do I have to actually have it download into the PCM-folder? I suppose it should be enough to move it there when it's done right? |

I believe this was changed in the 1.0.4 patch. This is not DB related. |

Decompression failed: Invalid compressed data. The application will most likely not work correctly. Do you still want to continue with the next file?
I get this message when im running the exe. file. Whats wrong? |

I made up an excel file analysing the data responsible for the "quality" of new riders coming from certain regions.
In summary, this data (full data in attachment)
total new riders/year: 1892
pot1: 472
pot2: 412
pot3: 442
pot4: 343
pot5: 161
pot6: 40
pot7: 18.5
pot8: 0.91
a further "quick and dirty" analysis:
given 7 specialties (tour, mountain, tt, sprint,...) you should devide this by 7 for each specialty.
supposing an average rider has a 10y career of which 2-3 years are at full potential this would mean e.g.:
each year about 5-7 guys from pot 7 or 8 would be competing for each specialty {((18.5+0.91)/7)*2 or *3 } ------> seems quite realistic to me: 5-7 real favourites for either cobbled, hilly or stageracing races. The same for sprinters and tt. And about 10-15 second tier candidates as well.
However, I find it very inconsiderate from Cyanide to work with such a high fixed number of rider per weighting (i.e. 11). This makes it very hard to differentiate between regions/countries. Even more so, this is responsible for a VAST number of new riders/season of over 1800 riders. The DB wil be growing very very fast in the first years. Should Cyanide disclose where the number of 11 is set in the gamefiles, one could easily change it into 1, and multiply each regions weighting by 11, leaving everything as it was for those who dont care and giving those who do care more options in finetuning the regional differences. (much respect to the Daily DB team for the finetuning they did, Cyanide's ininitial stats were very disturbing...)

when you have downloaded all 5 parts you must start the exe-file
why would it be necessary to download everything again with a torrent ?
so just doubleclick the first part (should be the .exe)
and no i don't have a profile for megaupload |

btw. Boonen and Pantani look pretty good ingame. |
