Go ahead (yes, I'm giving an order to an administrator, after all, everything should be going upside down for a matter such as La Lanterne Rouge). |

As Hushovd won this stage..
Oscar Freire won 2002 in Germany (hurray) a Tour de France stage while wearing the world champion jersey, who was it before Freire if we count out TT world champions?

Greg LeMond in 1983, but he won only TTT with his team.
Before that, Bernard Hinault won 4 stages in Tour de France while wearing the world champion jersey in 1981.

Absolutely. My guess is there's also quite a lot of Lotto vs. Quickstep rivalry here. Could Gilbert end up better than de Weert they have won everywhere...
Also to the ones who blame Moncoutie. You suck! He was chasing Roy for more than half the mountain, and obviously catching Roy was the only way he could ever win. I'm pretty sure he knew Hushovd would win, but it was the only chance he had. Fuck that they are the same nationality, this isn't a nanny-play-ground. They are professional riders trying to win one of their biggest win of the career. And we don't know if Hushovd would've caught Roy by himself. To be honest I think he would've struggled.
So Moncoutie did the only thing he could do. Help in the pursuit and hope Hushovd spent more energy than him, primarily going up, and then attack on a small bump.

Adding to what SoTD just said, Moncoutié finished 2nd, which is one spot better then if they wouldn't have caught Roy.

I'm torn; part of me really wanted Jeremy Roy to win the stage after all the effort he has put in over the past 10 days but another part of me is please that Thor H put in a mighty effort on the descent to win....
Grats to both
Either way, I'm a winner as I put 10PCM$ on "Another Rider".
Post race tweeting - only one topic really:
@mattgoss1986 Matt Goss
Stage 13 is done, Lars bak did a great ride to finish 4th today, super impressive ride from Thor, GC in 2012!?
@GeraintThomas86 Geraint Thomas
First day in this race when I had the chance to 'take it easy'. Well as easy as you can, on a day like today!! Thor's the man!!
@richie_porte Richie Porte
Warp speed for first 50km, nasty little day. Stayed out of trouble and hope for the best 2mrw. Congrats to the god of thunder Thor..
@CadelOfficial Cadel Evans
Fast start on some tiny roads today. HEAPS of Aussies out and about! Thor is incredible hey? #TdF

@f_cancellara Fabian cancellara
Thor you a machine.... I done the pull in the gruppetto to get up the climb. I was already thinking on tom. Stage. It will be dam hard.
@MarkCavendish Mark Cavendish
I think Thor Hushovd showed today why he wears the rainbow bands of World Champion. Incredible ride.. Nice work by my teammate Lars Bak too!
@millarmind David Millar
What's a pro cyclists worst nightmare? Racing solo for TdF stage win and knowing Thor Hushovd is chasing you. Fear of God of Thunder.

Well... I'll put some spice here...
https://www.marca....50803.html
Rojas is blaming Cavendish of being towed in the mountains.
What do you think??? It's not the first time... and... I did a short test in youtube... and search for "cavendish towed" + "cavendish remolcado" "cavendish cheating" etc etc... and youtube just dont find results and query only for cavendish.

They say this every year - you could (if you were a complete shit) say that Jeremy Roy got a tow from the team car when getting his Bidon within the last 10K of today's race.
The fact is that all the riders "take a tow" when they are putting things in/getting things out of the support car. The commissaries know this and keep an eye out.
I think the complaint is tactics.
Was Rojas in the Gruppetto seeing this himself? Unlikely. So why is he saying it? and if someone else saw it why don't they have the balls to say something?
Tactics

Mmm... let's say that Rider#1 in green gives the TdF organization 10X incomes (TV... merchandising etc etc etc)
And Rider#2 gives the TdF organization... 1X incomes...
Is not a great idea to keep Rider#1 in green till Paris???
Tactics my friend.... tactics. |

The Giro, where everyone in the penultimate group said that everyone in the grupetto got tows up Etna.
If other riders keep pointing fingers at Cav then it's suspicious.
