Someone has called a Danish tv station, saying that he saw Contador in Copenhagen Airport earlier today.

Well, on Contador's Twitter, he did post a picture of him being on a plane ... to Belgium. And either way, he can't be at the press conference tomorrow due to a criterium in France which he's signed up.

So Quickstep?

We'll because he's travelling to Belgium its possible he could sign for a team in Belgium. Of course its not confirmed so we are just thinking of possible options at this point. But it does make a lot of sense as last year he was rumoured and Lefevre also mentioned that he would really like to have Contador for 2011.

Well that and the fact that QS have been after Contador before. If they offer him the most money he will go there. I have no idea if they can afford him though.

Edit: Basicly what Valverde said.

I read somewhere that levere said that they can't afford Contador, however i hope they can.
Then QS can finally compete for the GC in a GT Smile

Concerning the Luxembourg team, I'm wondering whether they are co-sponsored by a German company. They seem to have a very strong focus on German riders / personnel.

It could just be the fact that there are more Germans available, with Milram not continuing

He has, but the press conference is 11:00 GMT+1, so there should be time enough to be presented as next seasons captain and race the criterium.

Except for the fact that he's starting in a criterium in France tomorrow.

So Contador takes a plane to Belgium but he will start in France?
And i´m pretty sure that Quickstep has a contract with Merckx for the next year, and Contador has a contract with Specialized...

As far as I understand, he was set to start in a criterium in Belgium today, another one in France tomorrow.

That depends on what time the criterium starts. It does'nt take that long to fly from Denmark to France. He would'nt have to stay long at the press conference, perhaps 15-20 minutes to shake hands, answer some questions, tell how excited he is to ride for the team and so on, and then leave early Wink

of course it's more than easy to sign those milram riders, while they haven't any perspective for the next season yet ... and which are mainly german as you told... that's true

but also think, it's just one side of the coin then (if the rumours really become true and they use to sign that bunch of german riders).
guess, the main reason might be more an economic thinking in some way.
because as soon as milram stops, the german market is a huge unused one. maybe sleeping a little bit atm ... but with high potential for sure.
for an ambitious sponsor it's the perfect time to enter, since the german media will concentrate on that new team then instead, thought.
and something that proofs that thesis is, that the rumours mention a lot of german riders lately ... but not just only german riders out of the milram team...

well, we'll see Cool

Considering the rumour of Voigt joining the Schleck-team: That does'nt make much sense. He has at only one year left on the road and he's always been the most loyal of Bjarne's riders apart from his best bud Bobby Julich, who now works as director on the team. Plus, he once said he would like to join the staff of Riis Cycling once he retired from racing, perhaps as Directeur Sportif. He has confirmed that he's been contacted by them but why would he follow the Schlecks and Kim Andersen? More money? I don't think there's much to gain for him.

The challenge of a new team can often be appealing - and maybe a move to the Schleck team would involve the possibility to move into team management upon retirement. And the Schleck team may become a more viable long term project in terms of the existence of the team, depending upon the terms of the sponsorship Riis has secured.

Besides, while he might once have said he wants to go into team management, he might have changed his mind - and simply prefer to stay with the Schlecks rather than stay with Riis.

Contador said to the Belgian press that in this week he will anounce which team he will ride for in 2011 !

About his future Contador did not said much. "I think within the period of one week I will be able to announce my new team," he told Sporza. "Whether the team is Riis? This is a great opportunity representative. Whether this a yes? No, there are other teams too."

And as far as I know Kim Andersen had a much closer relationship with many of the riders than Riis. And he was often the guy that was responsible for the race tactics. That could make riders want to go to his team instead of staying.
