I'm happy I managed to tick a box today. It's not every day I get to do that.

I hope you put a cross in a box instead. A tick would render your vote void.

The electoral commission is at fault for not giving specific instructions.
The returning officers who organise each individual polling booth are at more fault for:
a/ not being organised
b/ not applying common sense

Wrong.
DO I HAVE TO MARK MY CROSS WITH A PENCIL ON A STRING?
No, the election is not being electronically counted. So if you prefer you can use a pen. You can even mark the box with a tick instead. The important thing is that your voting intention is clear.

First 3 seats all went to Labour (all expected)
Exit poll suggests hung parliament, with Conservative as largest party.
Swings towards Tories in those 3 seats suggest Tory majority government

Damn. Well, it seems exciting, especially with the added craziness of that MP nearly dying in a plane crash.
I think a hung parliament with a Lab - Lib Dem coalition looks pretty likely if the Conservatives don't win outright.

if the exit polls are correct the tories will have more than a lib-lab alliance, meaning they will just have minority control of parliament.

Hold on a sec, you guys still have paper ballots you write an x mark in???
I mean, people attack our electronic machines because they say you can hack them, etc, etc, but at least we aren't still in the 18th century. |

It's wrong that the constituents are expected to vote for the Speaker, but Farage is just trying to sneak into the Commons. Highlights the need for reform. But I hate Farage, hope he gets destroyed in this election

We get sensationalists who don't understand electronic votes are far more secure and reliable.
Also, we seem to view our election progress as something wonderfully British, and resist change
