Predictor-Lotto story

Wooo, you got 6th!!!! Well done! Smile

Shame you lost so much to Caucchioli on Zoncolan but 6th is still brilliant for Cioni!

Yes when I first sayd that inside 10th. will be great result..then I seriosly thinking..maybe this is to much. I know at my earlyer races what in the Giro can happened..they I though ok 10 is great..15th. will be ok. But 6th. wow..
Cioni can retire now at this season Romandie and Giro..exelent result.

Stage 21 (parade)
Vestone - Milano

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0021-2.jpg
Final stage..more then parade for me. Cioni can take also champagne..because he's 6th. place is just superb.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0022-3.jpg
here they all are 164 riders are left..whne the tour start there was 196 riders..Predictor has lost 3 - Robbie Mcewen was abandoning the race after hugh mountains, Zanini- Has fallen and injury..Sentjens - was out at the time limits at mountain stage.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0023-3.jpg
Hugh..breakaway group..14 riders..Nocentini is highest at GC. Later on I was a little mad at myself that I dont tryed to but van Summeren also there. Peloton doesnt want to chase them down..even Predictor team was helping to close that gap down...because 12 min. is to big present for Nocentini.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0024-3.jpg
Schumacher cant follow breakaway group..one of the spring superstars is clearly out of form.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0026-3.jpg
..Nocentini takes the stage win..

Superstars:
Di Luca - He never shows any signs that he's gonna leave Giro victory for someone other.
Paolo Bettini - Has we had weak sprinter package..Paolo pushed all the way...and he doesnt want to give up even at mountain stages.

Disaster:
Thomas Dekker - There is question after Giro why that potential rider was in Giro startlist after all. he was out of shape..and totaly invisible.
Ricardo Ricco - Has he is young rising star..and final GC standing wasnt bad at all..I was expecting more activity and action from young gun. Booring ride.
Sella and Soler - Wild card team leaders..wasnt there where the Giro admistration expected they would be ..when they give them Giro ticket. Weak perfomance for wild card teams.

Over expectation;
Dario Cioni - he takes absolutly max. at Giro. He was hanging almost every mountain stage.
Rujano - There wasnt surprise that this rider can climb..but after he's 2006 Giro disaster ..that was promising come back.
Bruseghin - It's not always about team leaders. He was best helper what Cunego can dream about..great ride at both TT..and exelent 15th. stage.

I was waiting that Giro is over..before I post magazine news to get fresh CYA toptour rankings.

At first rider of the month:

Not surprised this is gonna be Giro dominator Danilo Di Luca
www.bikenews.it/2005/GIRO/TAPPE/20/FOTO2/DI-LUCA.jpg

Best young rider:
www.cycling-photos.net/data/media/375/kbk06_ravard.jpg
Anthony Ravard

I wondering every month how UCI choose those youn riders..(no problem with rider of the month category because I got two mr. January - McEwen ,,and mr. April - Hoste..)

www.sport24.com/photos/1182702906.jpg
Caisse terrible season continous..Karpets is now has been injured over the month. I would like to see big russian in TdF..lets hope he will recover at least for Vuelta if TdF its to close for him.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0001-5.jpg
Cya individual standings...dont know for now..who's gonna take overall win..We have much smarter after TdF..maybe when evan Suisse tour and TdG go's has planned..he will be somewhere in front..at least he has open he's account with Catalunya GC 4th.
What is shure that F.Schleck has failed to take shirt from Sanchez after Giro..being smart after Giro...speculation - then it seems that was he's goal. Horner is still there and Cioni is front page also. What to say well done.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0002-6.jpg
2nd. amd beautiful gap between CSC..I will over take Liquigas again after July...that is my plan. And I'm starting to belive that Predictor- Lotto actualy have the chanches to win overall team classification. I realy have to quite after this year..beacause I can't repeat perfect season for Lotto team.

ASO has chooses those team's for Dauphine and TdF. Panaria had also Giro (not so good)..but probably ASO will know better.
Terrible year for Tinkoff..possibly no grand tour's for this year.

great names on that list...Sastre, Menchov and Evans just missing..they are probably in Suisse tour.
Talking about Predictor-Lotto chanches ..Horner has no chanches ..He is out of form..for him is just getting back in form. Main hope is Jufre Pou..who are realy exited for he's leader position.

most likely, he peaked for April and is just now returning to competition after a break.

Stage 2
Grenoble - Roanne

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0016-4.jpg
Ok lets started,,most important in Dauphine will be long TT (stage 4)..after that mountains. Dont know about Valverde form..but best shot will probably have Astana duo Kashechkin and Klöden..Moreau?..I even cant predict Jufre final standing. Lets wait ..whe have much smarter after 4th. stage. But now stage 2..sprinters chanche. Nice to see how Freire is doing.

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0018-4.jpg
Sprint..I had now for specific to sent to sprint...Decided Vansevevant to try he's best..when sprint starts he is best place what he can get (something for other sprinters to learn)..he's second at the moment. But looks Freire placing...when he starts..and here he comes and damn he's fast...

i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/guidomukk/PCM0017-4.jpg
....Fedrigo wins the stage. freire must be angry that he started to late..Vansevevant cant keep up all the way.. sprinters Freire, Astarloa and Nazon passes him..fifth. not so bad.
