Top 5 is not that far away - and my hope/impression is some of those teams in the Top 5 have raced more than Vespa.
in terms of races yeah we (for example) rode a little bit more than Vespa, but in March we had a lot of classics and the difference between race days raced isn't that big I think as you had a lot of tours.
We still have a lot of races to ride
I've raced the following so far -
Jelajah Malaysia
Tour de San Luis
Tour de Langkawi
Etoile de Besseges
Nokere-Koerse
Driedaagse van de Panne
Profronde van Drenthe
GP Llodio
FBD Insurance Ras
Though, as you said there are definitely a lot of races still to ride for everyone.
Just in comparison, Nespresso have raced:
Vuelta al Tachira
Tour de Langkawi
Etoile de Besseges
Bikeline 2-Day
Nokere-Koerse
E3 Prijs
Profonde van Drenthe
Scheldeprijs
East Midlands Cicle Classic
9 races so far, Kessler has only one appearance and Henao Montoya none. The goal of being top 5 in the rankings doesn't seem to be within reach, though.

You say that, but youre less than 500 pts behind 2nd place and even that isnt much right now, still a long way to go
The thing is I thought that by the end of April I would be in top 10 thanks to Steurs performance. Steurs did his part but I'm kinda surprised there are 13 teams in front of mine and all have there guns ready to score points later in the season. In addition to that, Wiggle and BMC are behind and considering the experience of their managers and the value of their teams, is likely they will rise positions during the season.
Yes, still a long way to go and we'll see. Maybe I was a little heady but I'm not very confident...

So far I am pretty disappointed. May is a busy month for BMC though and with 2nd at Rund um den henninger turm there are signs of life.
I am hoping to be in the top 5 after June. Knock on wood, but with Mt. Hood, Dutch Food Classic(Haedo), Leelanau (Wegmann), Japan (Stetina/Calzati), Belgium(Haedo/Wegmann/Zirbel) and Euskal Bizikleta(Wegmann/Calzati), then on in to June with Philly Week(if we can't win one of the 3 i'll be disapointed) Isle of Man TT(Donald) Triberg Shcwarzwald(Wegmann) Beuce (Calzati/Stetina) and finally Abergavenny (Haedo) and Wales (Wegmann) before the Tour i think we stand a chance at jumping into the top 5.
