Vuelta a España 2009
schleck93
Samu has proven that he is still good after 3 weeks of racing before so don't count him out just yet, remember he was 2nd on Alpe D'Huez last year in the tour, and he has won mountain top finishes from a favorits group in the vuelta before, he even won the last TT in 2007. Besides this is his only form top this year, so he has the most fuel in his legs together with valverde.

Maybe it's time for Kirchen to hit top form too?

this is the site where I watch the big race analisys:
https://www.steephill.tv/
for vuelta:
https://www.steephill.tv/vuelta-a-espana/

they have good stage by stage previews, all the stage profiles, full results, a good list of streaming web sites, a nice post-race gallery, and all the important interwiews with the main race protagonists.

nice route maps they have, thank you

a guy who runs the site is an amateur cyclist & photographer and he travels around Europe visiting all the cycling landmarks, making good stories and detailed, let's call them, walkthroughs, so he pretty much knows what he's doing and he's doing it well Smile

Sylvain Chavanel is out of the QuickStep squad, to be replaced by Wouter "waaaaahhhh mommy mommy the bad man won't let me ride" Weylandt.

Marcel Wyss is injured and will thus miss his chance at a first GT, after a very promising season. He's replaced by Simon Gerrans.

Yes, that's very steep. It's the final climb of Stage 10. Don't miss it.

Notice how at certain points in the climb, the best climbers in the world, at the Height of the EPO age, seem to be barely moving.

Bonus: see if you can spot Armstrong suffering in the pack as the climbers attack

True

I shouldn't have considered SS at the same level as Valverde. These guys disadvantage is the pressure they'll be put through, having missed much o the season to prepare the Vuelta.

Samuel Sanchez is my man, simply because I would like to see a fresh(er) face win a little... and Valverde is the guy I hope fails spectacularly.

Valverde will probably fail, he always has.

I wouldn't count Valverde out, this is his only form top this year, normally he tops at the ardennes, and waste himself and is allready tired by the time of the tour, and if he manages to time his form right instead of 3 weeks before the race like he did with the tour last year, he will do a podium atleast.

I've put actual money on Sanchez and Mosquera to top 6 in GC. And I'm waiting for a week in or so before going for top 3/winner bets. I've also put a couple quid on Cancellara to Top 3 in the prologue (spelling?!?!) and a couple against Valverde to top 3 in the prolo....g...u..e?
