AC will never be in a weak team for a TTT. A team which signs him will make sure he has the best helpers possible |

When Contador went on the move in the mountains, not even Andy could stay with him. Remember, there were only two real mountain top finishes this year, and Contador didn't look too pressed by Schleck during them...
Furthermore, the Tour had relatively less ITT kilometers than other years, and Andy at this point isn't going to make up time on AC there.
Either way, I think I only see the gap growing from Contador to his peers. |

And, I might add, that a proper Tour has many more ITT kilometers than this....crap.
The Tour is to be won by an all-rounder, not a climber. |

For now Contador looks allmighty and it won't change any time soon.
The only hope that he doesn't win the Tour 8 times is not only Andy Schleck, but also the others. Andy Schleck is young (24), but Kreuziger (23), Gesink (23), Nibali (24), Tony Martin (24) and some others are still very young as well. And we never know how the 20 years old of now turn out to be super-huge talents...or older ones who suddenly start to come out of nowhere and finish top in the Tour (Wiggins).
For all we know, suddenly a subtop 27 year old who has never done more than top 20 at best makes a huge jump..

As I've been saying: Contador will no longer be able to use Bruyneel's services. I have a feeling that that'll make him worse.
We'll see at the next Tour |

Stetina will begin winning them in 2011. cool that stetina just won the USA U23 TT champion. It will be dominated by Garmin.

You don't think Stetina or Martin can win the tour? Why |

Although I don't dispute that Contador is a great GT rider, he can still be prone to show a lack of experience. Remember his disasterous stage 7 Paris Nice when he lost yellow and almost 3 minutes. Also his failure to forsee the split in the peleton during stage 3 of the tour. I think when faced with a stronger team, if isolated and put under pressure he won't be quite so comfortable. |

*L* I'm pretty sure they said the same thing when he was in chemotherapy as well....
You can never count Armstrong out - especially when he's on a team with the likes of Leipheimer and Kloden. He may not be the "best" cyclist anymore, but he's the smartest one out there and with the right teamwork, I think he's got one more in him.
Some thing else to think about here - Contador is still under contract with Astana until 2010. What if they don't let him go? Think about it - Astana's only chance of getting invited back to the TDF next year is with Contador - without Contador, the ASO isn't going to touch them. They'd be more toxic than Chernobyl.
If Contador thinks he had problems with Armstrong, just wait until he meets Vinokourev. What kind of personality clash do you figure those two will have? |
