Paul Sherwen: I've never seen a descent like the Petit Saint Bernard, 31 kms - almost 19 miles and technical- don't miss the coverage

21 serpentines + other corners but just 4,4 average gradient.
I've seen harder descents like this, but definately its technical. |

I've a lame question: does the lanterne rouge award give any money or it is just symbolic? Because Van Hummel hugely deserves it.
As isso said, symbolic, but indirectly, there's money involved. I read an interview where he said that being the lanterne rouge has given him a lot of media attention which has led to invites from a lot of the post-Tour de France criteriums where you get a notable amount of money for showing up. |

I remember the descent well, due to a mad french driver, my angry dad and a few unpleasant explanatories Anyhow it was quite a fast descent, fairly wide roads and fairly technical in places, but not the hardest descent in the world. I can remember at the time thinking this would be a great tdf climb.

Ill go for Peter Velits to win the stage. Far enouigh back in GC (8 minutes) to be able to get into the break of the day, strong enough to at the very least stay with whoever else gets in the break, and then a decent sprint on him which could help him at the finish.

So, according to Contador, who is his biggest rival in this years tour de france?
It's Bradley Wiggins.

The directors have voted for the best and worst descenders. The winner was Thor Hushovd.
David Moncoutie the worst and Franck Schleck second worst |

I hope that was only for riders in the race, because if your talking about all pro's, then there is no way Sammy Sanchez shouldn't win.
