What were they supposed to do though - they cant just give up on the green jersey in the hope of taking yellow for a day or 2. In the end it looks like theyve missed yellow and messed up Cav's hopes of green as he could not gain much on Hushovd.
In the sprint for 13th, Looks like Columbia were trying to organise it to try to have Renshaw beat Hushovd aswell as Cavendish.

Ofcourse it is Amstel is one of the biggest one day races of the year. A TDF win is not nearly as spectacular as a win in a big classic
