Monte Paschi Eroica
Team: Appleby, Rowe, Elliott, Briggs, Roche and Williams.
Our cobbleseason starts off with Monte Paschi Eroica in Italy!
Roche tried to counter the early attacks, but he didn't succed to follow the other riders, so he got caught by the pack.
Todays break was pretty big but they were never a threat for the favourites.
Many riders punctured and fell and one of them was Chris Froome who crashed on a cobblesection.
After the second big cobble section the peleton got splitted into two groups, Rowe and Elliott had nothing left in the tank and couldn't follow the front group.
After that the race was over, and in the end Guillaume Blot and Luca Paolini fought for the win.
It was tight, but Guillaume Blot took the win, just ahead of Paolini. Rowe crossed the line 23 minutes after Blot and Paolini.

Nokere Koerse
Team: Appleby, Rowe, Elliott, Roche, Davis and Williams.
No expectations today, because there are many good riders here.
The race started off with some early attacks, Dale Appleby countered but the couldn't keep up with the others pace. So he got caught pretty fast by the peleton.
Instead a large breakaway group was created, but as expected, they got caught easiely.
At the last hill before the finish Denifl, Sinkewitz, De Waele and Poos started the attacks, and soon almost everybody who could, joined them.
No one from Pinarello had energy to try something, and now when almost every team had a guy in front, it was over. But Rowe and Elliott tried one last desperate try, but they never caugh the front group. The spaniard Carlos Barredo won todays race!
Rowe and Elliott crossed the line around 3.30 minutes after Barredo, in 22th and 23th.

Campina Ronde van het Groene Hart
Team: Downing, Briggs, Rowe, Elliott, Roche and Davis.
Todays race is pretty flat and our leader today will be Russell Downing, with Graham Briggs and Matt Rowe as jokers.
But Briggs ruined his chances to win today when he crashed pretty early in the race. He didn't got any injury but he couldn't come back to the pack.
When the sprint started Matt Rowe had a great wheel, Lars Booms. But he was very tired. Russell had a pretty bad position.
Rowe couldn't follow Boom and he didn't compete for the top 10s today. Instead Downing was coming fast on the right. But was his starting position in the sprint going to ruin the podium place?
Boom won easiely and had a lot of time to celebrate his win!
Russell did a great job but had unlucky, he finished 7th which is till pretty good.
So we finally scored our first points in the CT rankings.

Hel Van Het Mergelland
Team: Downing, Rowe, Elliott, Appleby, Roche and Davis.
The race started off with an attack from Dale Appleby and no one answered. So he got away on a solo ride.
But half way in the race, Fuchs, Poos, Traksel, Huzarski and Simon decided to try an attack!
They caught Dale and created the front group.
But the group got caught pretty fast and then it was time for the real attacks! Lars Boom and Carlos Barredo lead with 10 km to go and here are the positions then.
After them Weening, Vanendert and Grivko, with Aerts and Chavanel just behind.
Giovanni Visconti wasn't far behind Chavanel and he had Eltink just behind.
Russell Downing didn't have anything left in the tank after the hills so he was in the pack, around 6 minutes after Barredo and Boom.
Now it's starting to happening something in front, Pieter Weening crashes!
Grivko had lost the contact with Vanendert while Vanenderts team mate Mario Aerts had caught his leader today. At the same time Russell had attacked from the peleton and he was in a group with three others. But back to the front, Carlos Barredo are leading big in the sprint for the win.
And the Spaniard takes the win today, ahead of Lars Boom in 2nd while..
Vanendert takes 3rd, just ahead of Aerts.
Russell crossed the line more than 6 minutes later.

Circuit Sarthe - Pays de la Loire
Stage 1
Team: Rowe, Briggs, Elliott, Davis, Roche and Appleby.
We have travelled to France for a 4 days long stage race. It contains of 3 sprint stages and 1 Time Trial. Our leader here is going to be Graham Briggs who has developed into a great sprinter by now.
The first stage is flat and as expected it came down to a sprint. Elliott and Briggs had pretty good positions just before the sprint (Briggs to the left, Elliott to the right).
Elliott hadn't got the pace who was needed, but Briggs got Caspers wheel and at the 1km mark, Casper were leading ahead of Paolini and Briggs.
Casper got the win, but not with much. Paolini finished just behind.
Graham Briggs finished the stage as 3rd, a great result for us.

Circuit Sarthe - Pays de la Loire
Stage 2
It's time for the 11km long time trial, favourites for todays stage is Jose Ivan Gutierrez, Haimar Zubeldia and maybe Andy Schleck. But there are many outsiders like Vasil Kiryienka, André Steensen and Gregor Gazvoda.
First out of the favourites was Kiryienka, he took the lead over Nybö (Sparebanken) and sat a great time.
Next was the young super talent André Steensen, he rode well and finished 7th on the stage, +8.
Now it was time for Andy Schleck! He did ride a pretty good stage and ended up as 10th, +11.
Vasil Kiryienka still held the lead and it looked very good for him when Christophe Moreau started. But Moreau couldn't match Kiriyenka and he finished 6th on the stage, +6.
Team SaxoBank had some great timetrialers and next up was McCartney who did a pretty dissapointing ride as he finished 14th on the stage, +14.
But McCartney did beat Haimar Zubeldia who didn't lived up to the expectations and he finished 15th, +15.
Now it was time for the big favourite, Kiryienkas team mate, Gutierrez. He rode really good and he took over the lead at the line, 1 second faster than Kiryienka.
Gregor Gazvoda then started and sat a pretty good time, finishing 9th, +9.
When Graham Briggs started Gutierrez still was in the lead and it looked like he was going to win. Briggs finished 40th on the stage, + 28.
Jimmy Casper crossed the line last, and he would lose his jersey, to Jose Ivan Gutierrez who won todays time trial!
Briggs is now 19th in the GC, just 20 seconds behind Gutierrez. Hopefully he can move up som places with bonifications.

Stage 3
A pretty boring stage today, the break got caught and when the sprint started Briggs was to far down in the pack. The spaniard Ventoso won the stage, ahead of Lloyd Mondory.
Briggs did sprint well and finished on a respectable 6th.
Other news: Vasil Kiryienka crashed on the stage and was forced to abandon.

Circuit Sarthe - Pays de la Loire
Stage 4
The last stage of the tour is today and we got Roche in the mornings break.
But they got caught, and it looked good for us in the sprint, Rowe had Briggs wheel.
Briggs didn't have anything in the tank, but Rowe came fast on the left side. But he couldn't beat Alex Rasmussen who won today!
Rowe was very close to the 2nd place but he ended up taking 5th.
GC:
20. Briggs, +39.

GP de Denain Porte du Hainaut
Team: Downing, Elliott, Rowe, Briggs, Roche and Davis.
Todays race is for the sprinters, so we have brought our best sprinters here. The break consisted of a large group and the best riders were, Lhotelliere, Le Boulanger, Geschenke and Hoberg.
They got caught but then David Malacarne decided to attack, and with 15 km left he had a gap of 1 minute to the pack.
But he got caught, Downing and Rowe had pretty good positions just before the sprint.
Unfortunately Downing and the other Pinarello riders got pretty stuck and couldn't move forward as much as they wanted.
It was very tight between Blain (Cofidis) and Bozic (Vacansloeil). But it was the Cofidis rider who got the win.
Matt Rowe finished as the best Pinarello rider as 6th, Downing finished just behind at 7th, while Briggs took 10th.
A great race for us and some points in the rankings.
