The team will be well represented in their home country in the wildcard races.

Like others said I'm interested on both duos will work together too.
How will bith Vakoc and Calmejane work at hilly tarrain and in a mountains Min and Quintana.
I really wish you all the best.

I thought of signing for a GT wildcard as well, but I believe another year of experience under my belt is better at this point. Also, survival in the PCT would be better than just my mere presence in a Grand Tour. We definitely clash in some races, but that is to be expected. Good luck in the new season!

Survival battle
Based on last year's PCT, we have a goal of scoring 2,050 points to secure PCT status in 2025. You can find the detail below. Thanks to SotD for the format
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Kyeng Ho Min | 229 | 269 | Nairo Quintana | - | 200 | Hannes Bergstrom Frisk | - | 44 | Geoffrey Bouchard | - | 75 | Total | - | 588 |
Kyeng Ho Min is the only benchmark we have against 2023. He scored 229 points, we hope we can increase that number slightly in 2024. Quintana is the secondary leader in the mountains, we hope he can add around 200 points. Bergstrom Frisk and Bouchard are both looking for breakaway opportunities to score their points. We don't have the big GC prospects in the division, so we hope both get their freedom to roam.
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Petr Vakoc | - | 300 | Lilian Calmejane | 317 | 212 | Jarrad Drizners | - | 35 | Total | - | 547 |
Vakoc is our clear leader for the one day hilly classics and some stage races. We hope he can score around 300 points. Calmejane scored higher in 2023, but because of Vakoc' schedule we expect he'll score a bit less and predict around 200 points. Drizners will have a supporting role, so only 35 calculated points for the Australian.
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Wout Van Aert | 27 | 27 | Total | - | 27 |
Van Aert is the only TT (prologue) specialist in our squad. We hope he can perform on par with his 2023 level for some minor points.
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Jiankun Liu | - | 450 | Enzo Wouters | - | 100 | Axel Zingle | - | 75 | Total | - | 625 |
We have our highest hopes on our sprint department. With Jiankun Liu, we have a competitor for all the flat one day races and some flat stage races. Enzo Wouters will mostly participate in 'second-tier' stage races, where GC doesn't go to a sprinter. Also Axel Zingle will have some opportunities himself in these stage races.
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Sameera Chatarunga | - | 72 | Nur Amirul Marzuki | 96 | 100 | Kenneth Vanbilsen | - | 70 | Total | - | 242 |
We rely on the trio Chatarunga, Marzuki and Vanbilsen to rake in some depth points in the cobble classics. Marzuki scored 96 points last season, we hope the same this year. Marzuki is also eligible for C2 classics.
Rider name | 2023 pts | Exp. Pts | Filippo Zana | - | 5 | Johan Price-Pejtersen | - | 5 | Jenno Berckmoes | - | 5 | Edvin Lovidius* | - | 0 | Eric Antonio Fagundez | - | 5 | Fabio Christen** | - | 5 | Vinicius Rangel* | - | 0 | Sun Changsheng | - | 5 | | Total | - | 30 |
We scaled a minimum of 5 points for all talents, except for our stagiares.
Conclusion:
Collecting all points across the categories see us with an expected scoring potential of aproximately 2.060 points. That's just a couple of points above our goal that we set before the transfer season.
A lot will depend on the scoring of Liu in the one day races and flat stage races. I'm very much aware of that. The combo Vakoc-Calmejane is another big question mark. Although Calmejane will get some opportunities to score himself like Tour Down Under.
Looking forward to see how my expectations will fail miserably

Personally do feel the cutoff for relegation will be lower this year than last time, so if your predictions are indeed accurate, you should survive. Even without the points calculations, at first glance of the DB with regards to the PCT teams, my instincts were telling me you should stay in. Let's see if that turns out to be true

I got 150 points from Bouchard in PCT so hopefully he can hit triple digit scoring for you as well

I hope your calculations are surpassed during the season and you'll remain in the PCT. Of course, I hope that it's true for my team as well, although I stay away from calculations so not to expect way too much from my riders.

I definitely hope your riders are able to surpass the expectations and make you stay in (more) comfortably. It could indeed be close, but I do believe Vakoc and the sprinters are able to score some nice points this season. Min is a fun rider as well, hopefully he can indeed do better than last season. Not entirely sure but I think the GC/climbing competition is a little bit worse this season, so that's good for him.
Sorry for taking away Malacarne, hope Rangel is enough for your sponsors this season. I really like Changsheng as a talent as well though, as mentioned earlier

Your points assessment seems very fair, I am less worried than others about Vakoc/Calmejane working together, I think multi-leader strategies work OK in punchy classics. More concerned that neither is a great finisher.
Liu seems key as you say, individual sprints are a crap shoot but the top PCT sprinters did pretty well last year over the course of the season.
Good to see the first ToA commitment, Quintana maybe? Would be cool to see him at that race.

If I'm not mistaken, both Quintana and Min will participate at ToA for us

Cool January schedule for Christen, doing every single race. The right way to adapt to the pace in the pro peloton as fast as possible
If Liu does as well as he might according to his stats, the flat races should be pretty good for you. Calmejane is a good fit for TDU - and if he can stay with the front group in Badaling, this could be a good opportunity for him as well. Good luck!

Good month for you
Why is Badaling marked as "success" if Vakoc was 6th?

Good to see another fellow promoted team doing well at the start of the season. Especially TDU was great to follow!

I hesitated for a while, but considering the competition I am satisfied with the 6th place and the associated points.
The same goes for TDU of course: the final goal was not achieved, but the results were fantastic, which certainly makes it a success.
Thanks for all the reactions!
