Although not leaders, Kashyapa Siriwardena and Jorge Abreu will follow similar schedules and rationale to Reguigui and could bring us surprise GC results if they can stay in the top 20 on road stages and then jump folks in TT or TTT.
Shoutout to Fabianski for the inspiration and formatting!
@MacC in my original race planning, I had Cruz in almost 80 RD to bring him to every TTT and long TT on the C2 calendar. Sadly, I had to drop him down to allow my younger talents to grow, but I am so happy Cruz ended with me.
For the other, just hoping that the extended RDs for the leaders by being top 10 folks allows them to gain a few more points, but concern is rising for sure.

January and February Recap
It has been a lovely first two months for our Ecuadorian squad, competing in 5 races across our first two months. While our results may not have jumped up to impress, it should be clear that our team was always hoping for "Slow and Steady wins the race."
While we currently sit in 18th place in the CT rankings, we'd like to highlight some statistics that bring us some hope for the months ahead.
2nd | Best Stage Placement | 6th | Best One-Day Placement | 15 | Race Days Used - Lowest of the CT | 0 | Race Days Used by Tivani - our best hope for a stage win |
Certainly not everything has gone to plan so far, but we are ever looking forward to more upcoming. Hopefully we'll have some special news to celebrate soon!

Good performance from your squad in the IoM TTT Not that far off 5th place.
And Duchesne looks like a solid leader in the hills.
Some interesting races for you will come at the end of April with USA PCC and Olympia's Tour. Personally I would have selected Tivani for the flat classics like Nakhon Ratchasima and Berlin. Nevertheless I hope he can score a win for you in the Middle East

Nice to see your TTT squad was able to compete in IoM. Hopefully we'll meet in the breaks in the races to come, as our March schedules are pretty much the same.

March Recap
Our 3rd month of racing finds us sitting with some significant disappointment, but still some opportunities for the future. An 11th place in GP Izola was crushing as we narrowly missed our best opportunity for goal completion. Two absolutely fruitless stage races for Pais Vasco and Guadeloupe leave us wondering where else on the calendar things may go wrong.
Still, we saw a number of successes in March that give us confidence moving forward.
4th place in the Pais Vasco TTT and the top CT team at the C1 Isle of Man TTT (9th) give us hope to perform in Monterrey and position ourselves well in later GC opportunities.
German Nicolas Tivani scores his first points of the season with a 2nd place in Stage 2 of Tour of the Middle East and shows why he can be an outside threat for a stage victory somewhere along the way.
Richard Huera and Harold Martin Lopez both earned valuable experience and points for the team. Both young riders expected to only contribute through their domestique work, yet both found ways to impact the race. They combined with our other Ecuadorian youngsters show us the opportunities that can come in future years.
April provides the SEE Turtles with our only HC race of the season in Tour de Pologne. Duchesne will hope to challenge in a hilly sprint or two, while otherwise our youngsters should be gaining experience in the breakaway in preparation for future seasons.
Badaling International may prove to be a challenging moment for our team, but the SEE Turtles will be looking to showcase our jerseys by keeping at least a few other riders behind us.
Our best shot of the month comes at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Faycal Hamza and Atsushi Oka arrive as 2 of the best 4 prologue riders in the peloton with hopes of our first stage win of the season. Oka and Tivani will team up in the sprints with hopes to gain a few bonus seconds as ahead of the epilogue.
"Our SEE Turtles seem ready for a breakthrough! It's been a challenging three months, but we have many more opportunities for success. Our team boasts the most remaining race days available in the division and every race is an opportunity to move up the rankings. Many riders seem poised to mature and contribute more in the coming months as they get their legs under them. Our team is still new and adjusting - just like a baby turtle hatching and finding its way to the ocean. We're gaining strength and ready to sprint to the water."

A couple of decent results there with the Isle of Man TTT and Izola. And fwiw, it's still advantageous to miss a goal by only a place or two, compared to being completely off, so don't take that one too hard! Still room to grow, points wise, but like you said, plenty to be optimistic about

April Recap
The SEE Turtles headed to three continents for three races, in three different categories across April with mixed success.
Our squad first attended Tour de Pologne, our only HC race of the year - pretty much by design. Duchesne was clearly our best performer taking 3rd in the KOM and having two fantastic days in the breakaway. Trillini also surprised for a 5th place in a bunch sprint after being well-off the list of favorites. Sadly, luck wasn't on our side for stage 4 where Trillini punctured and Duchesne dropped back to pace him home. Sadly neither rider returned to the peloton before the finish and there was clearly some energy loss for them. Vermaerke showed himself strongly in the early breakaways, earning the team a few valuable points from mid-point KOM standings. Overall, Pologne was a success, if only because there were much lower expectations than we finished with.
The SEE Turtles trip to Asia was much less fruitful at the Badaling International. We simply were not prepared for the difficulty of the race or the startlist. Squire tried to lead the team but still finished outside the top 30.
Finally, our squad returned home to America for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Tivani was our first hope for stage results and he earned a 10th and an 8th in bunch sprints. We hoped for a bit better, but he showed he was invested in the finale which was important.
Our success however was poised to come in the epilogue. Oka earned a surprise victory after the time keepers struggled with the milliseconds on the provisional standings, pushing himself into 11th overall. Hamza also crushed the epilogue and took 3rd on the stage and 9th overall after taking a bonus second along the way. Oka's victory is our first of the season, but Hamza and Oka have strong hopes for a few more when we go against the clock.
Our success in the final stage almost meant a victory in the Teams Classification after Tivani came through strongly with our 3rd spot on Stage 4 as well. A big result for us to show our consistency here after that's been a real struggle.
With April being our best scoring month yet, we hope to maintain our momentum in our two races for May: Olympia's Tour and International Osterreich Rundfahrt.
Olympia's Tour offers 3 different chances against the clock and both Hamza and Oka should be looking for Top 10 GC positions at minimum. Both will challenge in the shorter ITT to close out the tour, while Oka will also be handed the reins in the sprints for the first time. Our TTT setup has the most 70+ TTers in the field and we need to take the win their for our top level of success. 75 points is the bar for our best race this season and we hope Olympia's Tour takes that spot.
Our trip to Austria is not looking at fruitful. Alarcon may be able to stay strong on the first two stages given the hockey stick profiles, so hopefully he's on his best to start the tour. Trillini is here to fight for some surprises on the uphill sprints, although Betancourt may finally show up and try to lead the team on a stage or two. As management, we're not sure how we feel about that. Regardless, stages and a few depth GC points would be a fine result here. We're hopeful to see a face or two in a breakaway as well.
"April was an exciting month for our team as we continue to move up the rankings after a slow start. We know we have a long road ahead of us, but we showed some real signs of improvement here. Oka's stage win is our year highlight so far and we couldn't be more proud. He and Hamza pushed extremely hard for us on that final stage and showed us what the heart of a SEE Turtle really is.
And as always, protect the turtles!"

Glad to see you getting your maiden win, I had a tough first season myself and the first win was a huge relief (though not many more wins followed). So hopefully your squad delivers a quick follow-up in Olympia's Tour (and you taking the points instead of the CT big guns would be a bonus too ). Best of luck in May!

Big congrats on the first win, that one was definitely due
There should be plenty of opportunities for you to add some great result - Olympia definitely being a huge chance, in particular the TTT should be at least a podium for you

Congrats on your first victory, the 2nd one might be just around the corner if it's at Olympia Tour

Clearly fell off the HQ updates but will work on some season recaps, results, highlights, etc. throughout the summer.
Many thanks to all those with positive words throughout the season here and in discussion posts. Been awesome to see some support for the Turtles and very thankful to have found this community!

After a long season with updates, the SEE Turtles celebrate 7 victories throughout their inaugural campaign!
Atsushi Oka got our team's winning ways started in April with an epilogue win in the closest thing our team has to a home race.
Faycal Hamza and our stellar Olympia's Tour TTT team brought huge success that turned around our season. A monstrous 277 points were raked in by Hamza, Cruz, Oka and company. Those 3 would lead two more TTT victories and a number of other point scoring opportunities throughout the season. What a set-up for our TTT stars.
German Nicolas Tivani was the other star of the season finding success throughout the final 3 months of the season, but especially in the Tour of America. Tivani was able to win on Stage 5 to take our first win in South America and win in his home country. Tivani was consistent throughout the rest of the tour, coming home with the green jersey. A big surprise to be as strong as he was, Tivani showed he can sprint with the best in the division.
All three of our individual winners finished in the top 21 CT scorers and amassing a total of 548. Only one other team had 3 riders in the top 21 (Congrats Manada Coyote on 3 in the top 15), while others were led by true superstars. Still, our Ecuadorian squad is proud to have spread our points, created surprised throughout, and end up 10th in the CT rankings!

A great TTT setup, rewarded with three wins. Topping it off with an impressive performance from Tivani in your home GT. Quite a debut season I must say!
Wishing you all the best in the offseason!

Our 7 developing youth all brought different contributions to the team this year and take steps toward bright futures with their remaining gains in future seasons. We can't say how many of these talents have earned continued faith in the team, but we're very proud of their development in 2023 - and all with us!
Each rider now shows their 2023 start point, current rating and likely development path.

Actually pretty surprised that you don't have a big TT talent there
But some really nice and handy guys you're developing there, looking forward to see them all maxed soon

SEE Turtles 2023 Goals Results
Race | Goal | Results | Success | CT Team Standings | Top 10 | 10th | Success | C2 Clasico San Jose | Win | 10th | Fail | C2 Tour of San Luis | Top 5 | 24th | Fail | C2 GP Izola | Top 10 | 11th | Fail | C1 Euskal Biziklita | Top 5 | 16th | Fail |
A tough first year on goal races was saved by some successes in other areas. If only we had known we'd be a TTT team when setting expectations...
Still, coming home strong in the 2nd half of the year to secure the 10th place in the standings kept the fighting spirit alive as our team heads into our 2nd year. Lots more to discover as our team grows!
