Really sad way for Bennett to finish up...very frustrating
All the minor places added up here to save us from disaster. We are definitely flatlining points-wise but hopefully have done enough....nervous times at Glanbia HQ
Not the greatest sprint stage for us, but I definitely don't care here. Congrats to Oktal, Wippert has been amazing this year, pretty much on par with Kanter (who had some additional white jersey points).
I couldn't imagine any better than rounding off the C2 stage racing season with a 1-2; and given how far these are, it might well be the only time in team history that we achieve something like this. I was hoping for it in the mountainous stage races including TTTs, but PCM won't consider two riders per team. So stage races decided by a TT are pretty much the only way to get a 1-2 - but with the usual TT randomness lots of things had to fall into place to really get there. So it definitely feels special. I appreciate the congrats (and obviously the reports )
In general, C2 stage racing was huge for us, and the main reason for promotion (and the very, very likely division title, now I can agree with UU). We did 9 C2 stage races - and got a GC podium in every single one of them. There's obviously a good portion of luck in such a streak, and I don't know if anyone has achieved something similar yet. I think it shows that my team was perfectly prepared for CT - now it's up to us to build a competitive team for PCT, as the results show we do by far not have the required level to avoid relegation next year. Interesting times ahead...
Thanks again to red for pushing C2 racing forward, thanks for your innumerable reports! Congrats to Tryg as well - I guess this result alongside your awesome ToA performance should be worth a big jump up in the rankings...
A nice way to close off the season for Saber. A stage win, podium and the points jersey. Together with the 5th place in GC for Laizer we can call this a success. Congrats to all the winners and thanks for the report
