Well, I obviously don't like this stage outcome. Mas, Aru, Kuss are all riders Stüssi should beat or at least keep up with. Those plus Talansky have all had their good to great day now, hopefully Stüssi is due one on the last two days. I'm fine with the other ones beating him, although I still hate it how worthless physical stats are with that PCM edition (looking at Alarcon mainly).
Congrats to Bralirwa on the stage win, and to P4E on a commanding GC lead - I guess Padun should have that one locked up.
Thanks for the report. It however looks like the screens are one off, with picture 7 being the same as number 8, and starting from there the text doesn't fit the pic.

Sorry about that, double tapped when I was doing the report, and then forgot to delete it. Should be fixed now!

Not a good stage from Penasa but still in a decent position in 7th. He usually has done well in MTTs before, so hopeful he can do that again in the next stage. Raileanu did fine today I think.
Congrats to cunego and thanks for the report WJ

Good to see Henao fighting for the KoM, but given the season so far none of our riders will be in the break in the final stage (especially not him). The MTT tomorrow is mostly to recover (at least for our riders). Congrats to Cunego.
PS: Though stated otherwise in the report Garibian isn't a home rider but from the other end of the continent as he's from Moldova (although I thought of him as an Armenian for some reason until looking it up for the NC routes, so no blame for that from my side).

Alright, that's more like it. Hopefully Madrazo can add a second stage win in the TT, and we should gain significant time on Padun and Talansky there, which maybe puts the overall win in reach. Not sure about Oomen, he's probably on par with Madrazo, could well take the stage win, too.
Comiserations to Volcanica, because wtf is Quintana doing here. He seems prone to these types of lapses, but it's still tough to watch.
Thanks for the congrats and thanks for the report WJ!

Finally something that looks like a result
No way a MTT should cause any losses with the yellow jersey bonus, GC win should be ours now. Rikunov leading U25 is a nice bonus too!

Mix up on the flags on my part, probably should have doublechecked that one, seems like he's a man that many people connect to different nationalities though

That was another rock solid performance by Stüssi, who's always around 10th place so far. Which is close to zero stage points, though - I'd prefer winning him once and finishing 20th on the next day, getting much more points and about the same GC outcome...
He's got a rather comfortable gap for staying inside the Top 10 now - and on the other hand is less than a minute behind 5th place. It would be great to see him actually try something tomorrow - given that the points difference between 10th and 15th is close to nothing (PpRD wise), I'd rather see him try and fail than just continue cruising anonymously...
And yeah, as expected, TT skills obviously had zero impact (and energy stats as well).
Congrats to Madrazo on back-to-back wins, although you were obviously hoping for some bigger gaps. But if Padun really brings that one home, he'd definitely deserve it.
Thanks for the report to WJ.

Was hoping for a Top 10 from Penasa on that stage but nothing lost as such and still within shout of a Top 5. Stage 5 being similar to Stage 3 does not fill me with a lot of confidence though. Hope I am wrong. Nice that Raileanu has slowly sneaked up the GC. Hope his form continues as well.
Congrats to cunego again and thanks for the report

Top 10 for Schultz. I expected more from Schleck on this stage but still good to get a top 10 in a really bad race for us

Quite the stage with the breakaway strength and taking the stage with riders scattered throughout the favourites.
Very respectable from Mas to finish in the first group of favourites and squeeze into the Top 10 of the GC with a 10th place. Combined with a stage podium and 3rd in the KOM, it does mean a few points to keep us moving.
Congrats to Popo on the win with Padun! Well deserved
Congrats also to all the stage winners!
Thank you wj for the reports

Awesome to see Brendan Rhim out on the attack, Fabbro a little too strong but a very solid second despite having no support in the break. He has probably had the least success of my original core of riders so that was great.
Very anonymous race from Kuss, no particularly good days and some fairly bad ones, including today, 18th on GC was on the low end of what I hoped for. Once races go bad for him they tend to get worse. Revard also lost time to drop two spots in the young rider. Hopefully they are saving up their magic for the ToA.
Thanks for the reports WJ. Congrats to Popo on the win, Padun was due a good race.

Well done to Penasa being consistent and getting a place in the GC. 6th in the GC and a stage podium for him in this race is a decent return. Also kudos to Raileanu for attacking on the perfect stage for him and getting another stage podium for us. He also moved up to 20th in the GC, which are some important depth points.
Congrats to Popo on the much awaited win and thanks for the reports WJ

Congrats to Popo for the GC win and to Air New Zealand for the stage win and the KoM.
Though it sucks to be right

Oomen does it! Sneaking onto that podium like a boss! I'm really happy for Padus as well, he was due a big win. And thank you for a great set of reports WJ!

Not 100% sure how to feel about this race. Given how the season has been so far for Madrazo, 3rd overall and two stage wins are a good result, and you can find arguments in the stats that Padun and Oomen can beat Madrazo. But given the investment, he would have needed to be more convincing here and elsewhere to fully satisfy expectations. We score very well here, obviously, and two stage wins are awesome, but the feeling lingers that there is a good chunk still left on the table.
Anyway, thanks for the nice reports WJ and congrats fjhoekie!
