Got the stage win, we wanted and we needed. 3rd in the GC is just fine, though not overwhelming, but overall those two ahead were simply better. Of course you want to do better with the expected top favorite, but I guess you could fail harder than what Haig did at this point.

Underwhelming race, with decent hill AI this should've been a GC win. Not satisfied.

I do enjoy this ITT report format from you UU! Thanks for another great effort
Well, can’t ask for much more than that! Job done there from the old man to take another great stage result and extend/hold onto his GC lead as well.
Nothing crazy tomorrow and we can celebrate a very successful and high points scoring race

Great performance from Carapaz finishing 5th. What a shame that he lost so much time in the previous stages

Ouch that was a terrible TT from Ranaweera.
Still a good race for Kraftwerk with 4 in the top 25 GC and leading the Teams.
Thanks for a great report UU.

Pretty good from Shikai. Baring anything crazy on the last stage, should be a good result. Stayed consistent throughout.

Jura have been just on the wrong side of things a few times this race, and it happens again here as McEvoy snatches 2nd from Aregger.
This is the 100% correct and hence disappointing summary of our race.
Let's be clear: we got about 70 points from this race, which I'd be absolutely fine with in pretty much any other C1 race. But this was our home race, this was our Top 5 goal, and we sent the best possible squad. In the end, luck just wasn't on our side:
- 2nd in TTT, missed out on the win by 2"
- 4th in the first sprint stage, bad positioning by Aregger
- 4th on stage 3
- bad day by the whole team on stage 5
- 3rd on stage 5, losing out to a 74!!! sprinter (with no res or rec)
Individually speaking, all of those results are good, but I'd definitely have preferred winning once and having one "minor" result less. Especially Stüssi was great on stage 3 to take 4th place - but in the end, he'd have been 5th in the GC had he gotten 3rd place there. Missing out on yet another sponsor goal by close to nothing really hurts, especially in a home race, and when the goal in the end looked very much doable.
But I'll definitely admit that it was a long shot to get a Top 5 with a 79 climber in this field. 7th is a good result by Stüssi, proving that his massive training wasn't all that wrong this offseason.
So, congrats to BNZ on the stage win, and to old man Rein on what could once more be his final GC win - I'm not that sure yet, though
And thanks to Ulrich for the great reports - they unfortunately often weren't 100% enjoyable for me, but that obviously doesn't lower their quality at all!

My goal for the squad was a stage win and the sprints were our best hope to get that! So glad Nizzolo brought that home!! First time I’ve had 2 sprinters win stages in a season!!! Really happy with the performance in the sprints. The rest was shocking but I wasn’t expecting a whole lot here tbh apart from a stage win in a sprint which was really a good goal to have considering the field.
Great race everyone and excellent reports!!!

A stage win, 2nd in points and 3rd in GC is surely a pretty solid result for Haig, who went for his third podium in his third race this year, if I'm not mistaken. Obviously a GC win was the goal, but a podium is still too good to be disappointed. Not too happy with our non existent backup scoring though. But I guess we hadn't the best support crew anyway.
Thanks for the great reports and congratulations to the veteran RT!

A solid last stage showing from Thomas to get involved in the sprint and take 5th after safely guiding our team to the real goal on the stage.
A great GC win for the old Rein Taaramae
Obviously an amazing race for the team with the TTT stage win, Rein's own stage win and then 2nd in the Mountain TT. Many points scored! Great team performance with the focus on the GC win.
Rein showing that his time isn't done and he's still got quite a few races this season where he could be just as effective.
Thank you UU for a set of fantastic reports. Always fun and easy to follow Congrats to those who also tasted success and commiserations to those who didn't.

Penasa climbed one spot in the MTT as I was hoping he could. 9th is a decent GC result with this startlist. A bit disappointed with Eenkhoorn not being in the U25 running at all. Had to do too much domestique work maybe.
We didn't have anyone for the flats so Stage 6 was all about self preservation and we did that.
Congrats to LLS on the win and thanks for the reports Ulrich.

Another second place from McEvoy is of course a good result, especially with him beating some real sprinters (to Fabianskis dismay, sorry for that - although we recall him stating how happy he'll be to beat us, so maybe not that sorry after all ). But instead of a lot of second places I'd prefer a win...
The rest was as unspectacular as expected for us, missing our top 5 goal by a mere 58 places - so congratulations to everyone who was more successful at the the stages or GC.
