Okay, please can all current participants (and all who sign up) complete the yearly training plan attached to this post, and/or in the second post of the thread.
The training plans are different, and give a quicker and more realistic improvement to that specific area. You will notice that you do not need to do endurance training any more, this is because racing will continue to improve your endurance throughout the year.
If you want more details/hints on what each training area does, look at the second post in the thread.
Once this has been completed by all, I can start on the racing. So the faster it's done, the faster you get to see races. Also, think carefully about how you want to progress in training - does that stage race with the time trials come first, or the one with mountains? Each month's training with be added to your rider prior to that month. So February's training will be added prior to the first race. Again, any questions, feel free to PM/post them here.
Make sure that you notice the two columns titled Days Spent RECOVERING as well as the Days Spent TRAINING.
The theory is still the same as pre-season training, spend too many days training and you'll not develop.

Nope. Not yet. The races are raced as in single player (not career) so the fitness is preset for all riders. And fatigue doesn't build up.
If that is the case then could you sign me up for every race please?
Whats your riders name again?
.... i knew i should have included forum name in the sign up somewhere....
I'm Euan Innes. |

Or attached to this post.
Fill in as you would like to train, remembering that adequate rest is required for training to be as effective as possible.
Flat - perfect for training to be a lead-out man, or a breakaway specialist. Does what it says on the tin.
Climbs - training for the Alps? Then this is probably what you are looking for.
Intervals - What better for getting your body to cope with high levels of lactic acid than a 2minute interval, followed by rest, and then some more intervals! Often take place on hilly terrain.
Sprints - erm. Does this need explaining? Far more effective than sprint training in off season.
Time Trial - Again, exactly what it says it is. Again, more effective than winter training.
Gym - More power specific, so for small climber types it will do less good than for a flat power rider/classics rider.
Cobbles - Got a date with some Northern Cobblestones? Sign yourself up for some pre-race punishment.
Skills - Bad at bike control? Lose the pack on a downhill? Or just need to catch back up after a hill? Then work on your skills to become used to time trial positions, downhilling and moving through the field in those difficult finishes.

Please check the third post of this thread for those who have been signed up, and whether or not I have recieved your training plans. If you do not fill in the "Rider Name" box in the spreadsheet, it is likely that I deleted the file as I do not know whom it belongs to. I'm not psychic. Resend it if you are not in bold.
If your name is Maggot, I have not yet recieved a CORRECT entry form, so there was no point in sending me your years training.

I sent you my training. And if there's no penalty, can you just sign me (John Huff) up for every race? Thanks. |

I could actually start the racing and stuff tomorrow had the following riders sent me their monthly training plans:
ALL DONE!
The races will begin by the end of the week even if I have still not recieved the training plans. All riders for this year have been signed up for all races for ease of it all, and because there are no downsides to racing. Teams will be 6 or 7 strong for each race. The AI domestiques will have the base stats of -5 the average of all rider starting stats. These will not be decreased this year, and I hope by next year, there will be a minimum of AI domestiques used.
A control team will have, of course, even lower stats.
For those that are interested, next season will see the incorporation of drugs (yes - abuse of and testing), and transfers which will be based on team performance and individual performance. A brief insight into transfers and winnings. Each rider will be awarded money for winning races etc, upto a certain placing - like in real life. This can be used in turn to buy your way onto another team if there is some free spaces there (which there are). The price to move to another team will depend on how many "good" riders are there already. So to move to a team with just one other humanly developed rider on it will be cheaper than moving to an already strong team. This is to encourage diverse racing rather than one team becoming too strong.
Stay tuned for more information, and as always, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
