Finally done with the normal parts, but I need some motivation, I' just waiting for the Giga Pack now..
________________________________________________________________________
Stage 6 – The final stage
The last stage in this tour, Arvesen in yellow. Perfect stage for Haedo, short and flat.
Today’s start
Adam Hansen went solo after 5 kilometres riding.
When there were 40 kilometres to the line, Hansen was eight minutes in front of the peloton. Now I understood that he was 44 seconds behind in the GC, I sent all my riders, except Haedo and Arvesen to relay.
2.6 kilometres to the line – Hansen has a little gap, but the sprint starts.
He is caught when there are 1 kilometre to the line. O’Grady tries to set up for Haedo.
Is it possible!? Stuey with his good form wins another stage! Weylandt 2nd, and JJ 3rd.
Weylandt is disappointed…
Arvesen wins Tour Down Under, and O’Grady is 2nd! Nice ride by the whole team!

January wrap-up
With five of six possible stage wins in Tour Down Under, I’ve decided that I will change the difficulty from normal to hard.
The whole team is happy, and Kurt was given the monthly award.
The next race, and the only race in February for us, is Amgen Tour of California. I’ve not decided the team that will travel to the States, but I will announce that later. The BMC manager John Lelangue thinks that Gilbert will win the race! Bjarne Riis thinks, of course, that Andy will win this race, which I see possible for him. |

My team:
All these riders wanted to compete; now they have to get some good spots!
________________________________________________________________________
Some of my riders have got a “stats boost”, I found it out when I decided who I wanted to send to California.
Matti Breschel:
Not much, 2 ticks better on SP
Kolobnev:
Finally an 80’s puncheur
59 SP instead of 58 too.
There are also some new stats for other riders, but I think I will post the whole team stats in the month wrap-up.
PS: Click on the small pictures to see their old stats. |

Great stats for Kolobnev, he can be a really good helper for Schlecks in the Ardennes or going for the victories himself |

Stage 1
Fabian Cancellara was the first favourite off the ramp. He did a good ride, and took the lead.
Stjin Devolder rode bad, and came 24 seconds behind Fabian.
Bert Grabsch was 8 seconds behind Fabian.
Fränk did a fantastic ride, and became 6 seconds behind Fabian! Maybe he could beat his younger brother?
I was afraid when the wind became under 30, and I had to, because the Belgian ITT champion Leif Hoste was 3 seconds behind… And there were better time-triallists to come…
… for example Popovych, but he got the same time as Fränk, 6 seconds behind.
Vande Velde, that moved to Quickstep and the ProTour this season, was four seconds behind Cancellara.
Hincapie 2 seconds behind!
What about Dekker then? 21 seconds behind… At this time I could smell the win.
The last favourite, Alberto Contador! 19 seconds behind? He must have bad form…
Then Andy, he couldn’t win, however, he wanted to beat his big brother!
Nope, at the same time as Fränk, but behind on the results
And then all the riders had finished! Fabian Cancellara won his first competition for the season!
Results:
1 Fabian Cancellara Team CSC Saxo Bank 3'47
2 George Hincapie Team Columbia + 2

In this part the game crashed in the replay. Sorry for that…

Stage 2
There was time for the first flat road race stage. I had no idea to hold the leaders’ jersey, and therefore, I wasn’t active in the front of the peloton today.
Bertioglati went solo today, and was caught with roughly 15 kilometres left.
Breschel found the right wheel, the Saunier Duval riders made a huge gap to the other sprinters
Breschel won! [no picture.. ] Within the last 500 meters, there was a really tight sprint, Boonen came dangerously close at the end. Breschel will wear the yellow jersey tomorrow.
All my riders went in with the peloton. |
