What a stage from Vailyiv! Really happy with that! He’s in a great position to keep this going for a good GC finish!! Great race for us so far!!

Heck yeah Connor White, adding a shock KoM to his shock White! Neither will last, but super cool guaranteed ad time for the sponsors.

Massive gaps there. Quite an interesting stage, and what a nice stagewin.
Rochas did OK, which was nice to see.

Another new team taking their first win - and a massive one, congrats to Caja!
However, the biggest winners of the day are Kozhatayev, Vasyliv, Warbasse and Talansky, already building up a nice gap to Alarcon or Schlegel.
Speaking of Schlegel, he must have been on a horrible day, as he should at least easily keep up with the Top5, if not beat him in most of the cases. With Zimmermann dropped earlier, they also miss a good chance of already building up a massive lead in the U25 standings; the German should however still be the clear-cut favorite for that.
Another flat stage upcoming, and then let's see how the big mountain engines are doing this year

SO far I am satisfied with how the team is doing. On stage 3 Bauhaus again could come in top 5 and now on stage 4 Hindley did make the top 10. Lets see what the next stages can bring us though I dont expect too much.

Good stuff from Talansky, important he didn't lose any time on that stage.
Always nice to see a rider work for a result.
Well done Caja, think there is a lot more to come from them this year

Kipkemboi getting in the break is exactly the plan but mystifying he didn't go for/succeed with KoM sprints given his stats, and neither him or Nikiema doing well on the stage is a shame. Hopefully it opens them up to more, and more successful, attacks.

Solid ride from Warbasse, would have been nice to put time into Kozhateyev and Vasyliv who are the most similar riders overall but instead lost time on time bonuses.
Still MTT will wipe all that away and then there are two big MT stages.
Sympathy to Lief as Schlegel clearly the underperformer.
Interesting example of how the AI handles two leaders, with Warbasse a favorite Kuss sacrifices himself while Mannion who is extremely similar held on easily in the 2nd group as he presumably didn't work for Talansky. Frustrating since there was probably no need for Kuss to sacrifice himself but I thought that might happen so a cost of my choice to race them both.
Now we need to make the mountains hard to bring our climbers back into depth GC positions.

Been away for a few days, come back to see that Mikhail Kochetkov has turned into a sprinter and breakaway rider. Did not expect that.
Overall, I am pretty pleased with the performance so far. A stage top 3, two guys in a break and Pedrero still there in the GC. |

^This again! But also another Top 5 from Shaq. This race has been very kind to us through 5 stages.

Wow, now McCormick don't even need Keough to win sprints, they're on fire Congrats! And Mareczko being so consistent is definitely good news for Lierse as well, although I can't really see how he was able to be competitive on that uphill finish - please check his bike
Now onto the interesting half of the race

We're definitely making the most of our only C2 race, too bad it's only C2 points.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

This definitely isn’t a scoring race for us. The gamble on Itami isn’t paying off. And being outsprinted by Gilanipoor certainly isn’t helping his cause. XD

Difficult two last sprinting days for Guerao, but that was to be expected. Still, I feel I could have sent a bigger sprinting team and left him on his own.
Not especially worried by the first mountain stage : we had three riders on the chasing group, and this wasn't the best one for us, with the shorter climbs. Now we hope to do better in the TT and the highest ones.
Congrats to the stage (and KoM!) winners and again, thank you for the reports. |

Henao already losing 3 mins is surely disappointing but at least we saw Delbove on the break on one day. But Alaphilippe getting four stage top 10s (including one near win) is what he's here for, though following his trend there should have been at least one more sprint finish... But maybe the AI sends him on the break some times to get the green jersey.
And thanks to red for reporting!

Kevin Feiereisen does the job, will have to remember how to spell his name now. Figured he would be good for one random win through the season and he crosses that off early. Now he has the rest of the season to try and make it two.
Thanks for the reports, Looking forward to the mountains.

Another stage with... hum... surprising results. First of all, congrats to Glanbia, absolutely fantastic stage by Talansky! I'd expect Vasyliv to easily beat him due to the TT advantage, but it wasn't to be. Still, a good result to build upon for BNZ.
However, it's about time we get rid of daily form, because a really bad day is the only explanation I could imagine for Warbasse's time loss here. He's a better climber and TTer than the stage winner, so yeah...
McCormick getting 4 in the Top12 of the day is impressive anyway, and if they work well as a team, they could still bring Larry to the top.
An impressive stage as well by Caja obviously, and they now have even two great options. With the closing TT in mind, Ablenado currently looks better, but I'm still wondering if Alarcon can demolish the competition in the mountains and gain some minutes. I guess the next couple of stages will have some answers on that
On the downside, I really wonder what's up with Schlegel. He must have one -5 day after the other, if he even loses almost a minute e.g. to Henao. I hope he can redeem himself in the mountain stages and just attack whenever there's a chance.

I do 100% agree that a 'worse' rider should never ever under any circumstances do better
