what I mean is it's always a sprint every stage...except when someone who can actually cycle decides to attack... |

There is usally one or two stages that is so hard that it don`t end in a sprint, but yeah it`s a pretty flat race
Kaggestad was by the way number six overall in Etoile de Besseges 2006. not that it says to much; he was in a breakeaway that ended around 16 minutes in front of the peleton on stage 1

underrated; hmm; after the first tdf stages i'd say romaine feillu! never heard of him before. he has an enourmous end speed. yesterday for example he took the wheel of mcewen and beat him!
what I like most about him is not his end speed, which is reasonable. it's his attitude. reminds me of Voigt. count on seeing him in breakaways in a few stages this year. he never gives up, and has such a fight in him.
also, he's pretty decent on the climbs too

Sorry Polti
underrated = Carlos Sastre
Tom Boonen
Cant agree with eather..
you don't think Sastre is that good? I definitely do.
as for my opinion:
most underrated -> Christian Vande Velde
I agree with your choice of Vande Velde
He truly is a great rider all he needs is the opprotuity to lead and he will get a good result. (Tour de Georgia anyone) |

"Christian can get a top10 result in a Grand Tour" - Bjarne Riis. I agree wholeheartedly. he was 28th in the Tour last year while working for Sastre.
at the Colombière last year he rode at the front and dropped a lot of big names...a few who finished in the top 10. yet he kept going at the front...in the wind...and didn't falter... |

I think Fabian Wegmann is underrated quite often. He'd win lots of races if he'd get the chance.
Ventoso is overrated in my opinion. He did well a few times last year, but thats no reason to say he's one of the best sprinters as some commentators on TV do.

Overrated: I have to say Cunego. He hasn't won anything after the season in which he won the Giro.
Underrated: Gusev |

who starting next season will not be doing the Giro anymore. only the Tour for the next few years. this is when he really will start to fade into obscurity, I think. |

i agree he is Giro material, not Tour
that may sound a bit weird but the two require very different types of rider |

I think the fact that he's been working on his climbing has damaged his TT ability. pretty normal and happens to many. Zabriskie, for instance. I'd bet on him for a top 10, and think he's capable of top 5 overall this year. provided he's past his injuries.
overrated...uhm....Mayo?
probably Bernhard Kohl. how people think that guy is a very good climber is beyond me.
Mayo is not overrated any more! |

Rasmussn does have 3 stage, 2 overall KoM Awards and a certain jersey simbolizing something about being the leader of the Tour De France. Overrated? I dont think so. He is a superb climber |
