Alexei Cherepanov, one of the greatest talents in Europe, has died, just 19 years old. He sat on the bench and suddenly .. well .. died.

Once again, although it's cynical, I'd like to point out that cycling isn't the only sport with problems...

I'm shocked. Greatest talents, sure, that's hype, but well....these things happen.

Russian authorities have now said that he had experimented with blood doping, and that his heart had decreasen functionality, meaning that he wasn't suited for top sport.

Just saw this thread now, so I thought I'd make a usefull postPfft

So who do you guys think will win it this year? Personnaly I think the sharks could very well win this as they are killing everything that comes near them even though have had a form decrease lately I think it will be them, Detroit, blackhawks and Canucks (if we get Luongo fit soon)that will fight for it in the west. And in the east Boston is very strong right now and they must be the favorite for the place in the final togtether with Capitals, Canadians and Flyers.

It's the NHL, who the hell knows. Form will be everything. It'll be the a team that comes into top form right on time for the playoffs. Could be anybody. Except Dallas Pfft

Indeed. Why not just go Los Angeles and "sell off" the underperforming vets to get better draft picks? Then again, with their drafting, they'd probably use the picks on the lower ranked players and live to regret it, as they always do since this management kicked in.

The Caps are playing rather well right now, if only they had a decent goalie, Theodore sucks, and although Brent Johnson is playing out of his mind right now I don't see how he can keep it up. If Washington gets a decent keeper over the offseason we could have a shot next season, as for this one, I think we'll see the Sharks and the Red Wings meet in the Western Conference finals, and whoever wins will win the cup.

Because the fans would riot, plus, vets don't earn much in trade value. The only guy who the Kings have who has any trade value is Anzar Kopitar, and he is one of the best prospects in the league so they aren't going to trade him.

Really good keepers aren't a dime a dozen. Varlamov is the future. Give him time.

What? We were talking about the islanders. The Islanders should do what Los Angeles did years back and is now about to finish.

Don't underrestimate blackhawks they are very good this year and they could very well end up batteling in the western final.

He almost flipped it over the net, that shot caught crossbar. He would have felt like a tool if he missed it after being so "cute" with the shot.
