@knockout - Very interesting on RP vs PG, i knew this was going to be the big interest. There's definitely more to investigate here. And if you, or anyone, has specific further questions or topics around this please let me know!
All the questions were designed to be anonymous if managers wanted, and definitely some of the sponsor related ones were very personal. That said you'd be surprised who wrote a few of the answers!
@jandal - I almost added that answer about Twitter, but didn't quite fit with the overall tone. A fantastic piece of MG lore we must never forget.
@DarkWolf - Ah ha! Maybe we need to put a new Pluchkin in the game now...
@Redordead - I can't tell who some of the answers are from, but that was the aim to be fairly anonymous. And shows even if we have disagreements in the game, ultimately we are all fairly similar in our enjoyment of the MG!
@ALL - Thanks for the positive feedback! As i've said a second survey will come at some point in the new year so i'm very open to question ideas or follow up topics if something has caught your attention so far.
Thanks TMM for taking the time and effort to do this.
Some interesting answers. Concerning length of reports. How long would the ideal report be for people who prefer them shorter? Would this mean a bit more text, or just leaving out some of the things going on?
I think someone was implying that shorter reports could lead to a faster season. I don't think I agree with this. There have been reports on my pc for a month or more before I was able to post them. We are following the calendar, and sometimes you just have to wait for other races to be posted.
Sure, some reporters could do more races if they shorten their reports a bit, but I guess this is quite personal from reporter to reporter. For example, I would enjoy reporting a lot less if I had to pick and describe +-10 pictures instead of for example 25. For a sprinter's race of course I'll be closer to 10 pics than 25. Again, speaking personally, I have already shortened my reports a bit in comparison to some of my reports from the first season, mainly concerning the breakaway being formed though.
The thing that could really speed up the season (apart from less races, with just eliminating C2 being a possibility in the future imo) is having more reporters. More reporters would mean that more races/stages could get uploaded in a day as well. If several people already claimed and reported on races in the coming months, the posting could also be sped up a bit.
Just as some comment(s) stated, I also mainly hope that the future of MG is safe, with people joining and others not leaving too much. It's not been a too great off-season regarding that.
Thank you, TMM, for putting together this survey!
I have a couple of thoughts about the MG roaming around in my head and maybe I can crystallize some questions about it. Since the next part of the survey is next year I have time to let these thoughts settle in a more concrete form.
I guess if Fabian Cancellara or Marco Pantani make a return and pop in the MG game they'll start some fierce bidding wars.
1) Thank you for the Thread of the Year nomination! Genuinely didn't expect that.
2) I am starting work on Survey #2! Of course on the questions in #1 was "what do you want to ask in #2" so that helps. And i have my own ideas again. #2 will try and look a bit more at RP vs PG and your approach to the game, and i also want to use it to get community feedback on MG AI and game versions.
So if you have questions you want to ask or ideas you want to know more about, let me know here or in PM. I do want this to be a community concept so please make any comments or suggestions
