in that case, change the age at which they start to decline (yes, the ages set are incredibly stupid).
the guide for the editor is in the first post of this thread. it's simple and says everything, really. it's easy to use this one
if there's anything in particular you don't understand about the first post, post here and I'll be happy to help.

I have already followed the guide from this thread, but it won't work. But I do appreciate your help issoisso
Are you sure that the unpacked db's i've got are the right ones? they're from the kicker and downloadable at this site... |

Don't use them. They are for the previous patch. They should work, though. |

I don't think that one is for the patch. I just now unpacked the "real names" one from cyanide that's on the front page of the site. here it is (see attachment) and works with the patch.
if it still doesn't work tell me exactly what's happening (I can't help you if you just say "it doesn't work" )

Isn't it possible to have two different db's to choose between.. For example as in the game there is a default and a original db.. can't I just make mý own and switch to it? |

Same thing here. Don't work
Is it a possibility that the cdb has to be made UNunpacked again, since it's size now is WAY bigger than officialrelease.cdb? |

Oh! Figured it out myself
To anybody with the problem:
When saving the db, remember to click the tables you have edited.
Then Just place the db in Documents/Pro Cycling Manager 2007/Database, and select it in the in-game option menu |

It is by all means important that you check your DB! Maybe you forgot to save your progress in time, did not complete all the steps, et cetera. And even when you did, it's not garanteed succes; I for instance don't get my DB working properly, when edited by HannesEditor. It intends to erase al progress (I checked my DB, all is fine until I load the game: then the DB is just like the old one again). Some problems could be because of the different German version (cheats and stuff for earlier versions did not work for European and UK versions of the game)...
When all options fail, you could consider using kicker instead (but it's much harder though).
are you sure you're pressing save at the bottom of the screen before saving the .cdb file? and are you sure you're selecting the tables you modified from the list that appears when you choose to save to a file (I'm not sure it's required, but I do it anyway).
finally, are you sure you're overwriting the .cdb in the game folder with EXACTLY the one you saved to in the Hannes editor?
Well, that is what is so strange. The DB is saved properly (you can close Hannes, open it again, load your edited DB and everything is fine), but when selected ingame: no result. I'm still looking for a solution (not that it matters, I use Kicker instead and that works fine) and keep you posted! |

did you try taking the DB into PCM's Database folder, and overwriting the OfficialRelease.cdb? |

in other news....don't try heavy editing at home, kids.
Just finished making my own costumized DB....took me days...(non consecutively, obviously). and that was starting from a decent DB like the GCT, not the original Cyanide one...

Hi, I have a question or two on editing. In the cyclist table there are two columns 'value_i_potentiel' and 'value_f_potentiel_total'.
I was wondering how these work and what their relationship is? The i potentiel seems easy enough with a value of 1-8 but I don't get what the 'f-pot-total' means and how it is used. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
Simn |
