Really looking forward to what Watson will do on this level. He was kinda disappointing for us, but that was mainly due to our planning (Bobridge just for stage races and Watson as a hopeless leader on PT level), so I'm pretty sure he will be either a great support for his captain or a solid leader, whenever he gets to ride in a free role.

@Fabianski: I think you've made some great signings yourself. Should be a good challenge on the hills
@Nemolito: Well, you have bought well in other areas. Hills is the area I want to be absolutely sure about!
@tsmoha: He will get a couple of chances, I'm sure. Kelderman has too few RDs in CT. Looking forward to how he goes

The team management is delighted to announce the next set to incomings for the Philips squad of 2020. Three more riders signed and the team is taking shape well for the new season.
Nico Keinath | Stage Racer
Age: 33 | Wage: 140,000 | Fee: 275,000 + Rider swap Going into this transfer season, Keinath was our primary stage racing target. While it wasn't a straight-forward negotiation, it is with great delight that we welcome Nico to our team and put our stage racing hopes on his shoulders.

Yeah, had him on my shortlist, too... But actually happy I didn't go for him in the end, given all those climbers in CT. But Keinath is definitely a great rider to have at this level, well done! Let's see if he outscores Tibopino

Keinath should deffo be a top 5 potential scorer in CT, very much akin to what Faiers looked like last year! I don't think that there's any doubt that you'll go straight back up.

Philips are going to crush it this year, I'm sure of it
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

@quadsas: TT was a big draw indeed
@Fabianski: Is that a rivalry being touted up I smell? Really happy to have got him despite the always crowded climbing field. Hopefully his overall abilities will give him some edge in races.
@redordead: Thanks But no predictions at this stage, especially after everything that happened last season.
@whitejersey: The main target is promotion, no doubt about it. Hoping to have built a team to achieve that.
@jandal: Wishing the same to you in the PCT We're just hoping to bounce back with a good season this time.

Well, apparently you wanted Pinot, and as you didn't get him, I guess you'll want to show him who's the boss in CT, right?
By the way, I was thinking about getting Pinot, too. I had an offer for 1.2Mio for Moscon, but the deal to bring in Moscon was sealed just a few minutes before your Pinot deal, and I decided against making a really late move. And against selling Moscon, thereby
So I'll be in a rather passive role watching the CT climbers battling it out this year...

I think Keinath will be an absolute beast in CT. Would have liked to have him too but the cash and the cap space gives me more flexibility to get some loans in that help me too. And im annoyed that i had to let Paprstka leave because he has perfect stats for a 50k cobble support rider but this thing called wage cap only lets me keep so many riders...
Aiming for the title already? Or are you still trying to keep expectations low?
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Watson at 50k wage is a steal IMO! Even I had my eyes on Keinath going in to transfer but could not make him fit in my team! Nice additions to your team! |

@Fabianski: Yeah I wanted him when the chance came about because of certain circumstances with his previous team. It was more about being in the right place at the right time, till about half an hour before he was supposed to be sealed
Moscon is a great capture too. He should do really well in CT.
@knockout: Very pleased to get Keinath, and I believe you liked getting Tvetcov in return as well Paprtska was also one of the top priorities when looking at support for Van Lerberghe, but it looked for a long time that it would not be possible because of other transfer dealings. In the end, it all worked out and we're delighted to have them both Not making any title or promotion predictions yet, or ever actually. Once bitten, twice shy, after last season.
@viking: Yes, we like Watson a lot. Should be able to help Kelderman in all of the latter's races. Keinath is a great fit to our jigsaw puzzle I think
@cio: If it makes you feel any better, Keinath is the only rider aged >30 in the team. One anomaly is allowed, right?

The final few pieces of our 2020 team are being put into place as the transfer window draws to a close. Today, we bring you two more signings who will ride for our colours this season.
Tom Dumoulin | Time-Trial
Age: 30 | Wage: 50,000 | | Fee: 350,000 Shouldering the responsibilities of time-trialing for us is Dutch veteran Tom Dumoulin, who joins us from fellow Dutch team Aegon - Peroni, after having served them wonderfully well in the Pro Tour for several years. We are delighted to be able to welcome him onboard our project and hope he can deliver in his favoured terrain.
Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 73.43 | 71 | 59 | 68 | 78 | 75 | 76 | 70 | 52 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 60 | 78 |
Gorazd Per | Talent
Age: 23 | Wage: 10,000 | | Stagiare For the first two years of our existence, a certain David Per rode for us as a loan-in, and produced spectacular results! So when the opportunity arose to sign his brother, Gorazd, we wasted no time in snapping him up as a Stagiare this season. He will ride for us starting August and we believe we can help him take the next step in his development. We will be delighted if he can produce even a fraction of the success that his brother was able to produce for us in those two seasons.

Fancied Keinath myself during the Kraftwerk panic stage and resisted a temptation to overbid Dumoulin, glad these two have gone to a good home. Bounce back to PCT seems nailed on.

@cio: We love the brotherhood as well
@redordead: Per 2 was always an option after the success with Per 1! Dumoulin fits us like a glove
@D2B: I am aware of overbid discussions on Keinath at the time it was happening, but I guess the rider swap swung the deal my way. Glad to have got him in the end. There was an actual overbid on Dumoulin, but I guess I got lucky with the timing

Keinath looks like a stage riding beast. Also nice to see a name like Dumoulin's riding in CT. Good publicity
