EDIT: I found a video on youtube " a series of short steep hills in the final kilometer" and "the final 700 meters were coming off ne of the hills" and he got in with the right train.
Here is the press conference that Fred discusses the finish Its kinda long. He says nothing about th exact speed and i am still looking for th Velo news article that i read the exact speed in.
EDIT: Just looking at the official sight and the average speed on the day was just under 28 miles an hour so on the whole it was a fast day. 113 miles.

Its just the surviving and making it to the sprint that will be the original hard part for Bos, after all he's not used to riding 100+km before sprinting.
the resistance I don't think will be that hard. the biggest problem might be the climbs.
and by the way, I love your "just"
As for Bos, yes, climbing, is the biggest problem. If he has no long endurance, maybe he couldn't finish a long stage with hard climbing even with his sprint.
ok like everyones saying ill definatly say that...
McEwen is the best overall sprinter when it comes to a disorganized sprint, or any sprint with any hesitation.
Ale-Jet Pettachi wont win squat without a train leadin him out.
Hushovd has some true Norweigen grit and can win the long ones.
Bos prolly wont end up bein one of the best.
Freire can be unbeatable on a good day but with his inconsistency and his back injuries, not to mention his age, he is definatly past his prime.
Boonen is better in the classics but can pull off a win against anyone else, but i think like in last years tour...if his morale gets low it'll take a while for him to get back on the top of his game.
I actually think that Bennati will be the next big sprinter...he has himself spoken out saying that he will take on Boonen or anyone in a sprint. He still has some work to do but when he makes that next step I bet he will do great things. But hes definatly not much of a classics rider coughRobbiecough
I reckon Bos will train well enough to be able to hold himself on long endurance stages. He's not stupid, he will train so he can survive in the pack, and I'm sure after a couple of races, even if he falls out at first, he'll slowly start hanging on for longer until he can get to the sprint. It's just a matter of time
