Yeah I had hoped to gain a bit more on Kohl, but Pluchkin looks set for a podium in this race, while grabbing his 4th win of the season in process. Amazing when you think about he didn't win once last season.

Donald still in the lead overall and now in the points as well. Saul is still up there on GC Zirbel and Donal Strong finishes on the stage. Not bad for the Argyle Armada.

Having just raced Stage 5, the first mountain stage, I take back what I said in the opening post about the gaps not going to be as big as last year. Its a pretty Epic stage too.

Good job by Pluchkin, I didn't expect him to keep up with Danielson anyway, so it's very good as Fed-Ex won't gain too much on me if it stays this way.
Also very good performances by Keinath and Kreuziger

Now Saul can go for the stage win on stage 6. Great Job for Peterson to step up. He now leads the argyle on the GC.

Solid day for Pereiro, if things go well tommorow I could go for 2nd, or even, considering the time gaps, the win |

Nice to see my Fed-Ex boys riding like Posties/Discos (and this year's CSC-Saxo Bank). Danielson all the way baby! |

Very exciting race. I haven't followed the CT too much, but this race is really nice. Perhaps also because it's a tough pack. Especially for a CT Tour... |

Rankings
Team
A dominant display by Fed-Ex is shown in the team rankings as by scoring 231 points, they turned a 125 point deficit to B&O into a 9 point lead and became the first team to pass 1000 points. 97 points is still a decent tally by B&O though and they are now on 999 points.
There is now a 240 point gap between 2nd and 3rd, with 3rd place now Slipstream who move back ahead of Champion thanks to stage victories for Donald and Haedo. With 2nd overall and 157 points, White Bear Steyr jump back up to 7th from 10th place while further down the table, still chasing their first win of the season are Ernst&Young, but Pereiro's performance helps them to move up ahead of Gatorade.
In their first race of the season, Wikipedia B failed to score.

Individual
With his 3rd stage race victory of the season, Tom Danielson extends his lead at the top. His 167 points here was just 1 short of the amount he got from winning the Vuelta al Tachira - a race twice as long as this. That just shows how well he performed in this race. Haedo remains in 2nd overall although Pluchkin has closed the gap on him. Wim van Huffel meanwhile is up to 5th, moving ahead of Jose Chacon who seems only able to perform at the top level in his home country of Venezuela.

clinging on in the top 5 - I'm loving how well my squad has performed so far this season. That was one of our worst performances but we still took a few points and thats what matters at this stage |
