Summary March
The month started off with the very important GP di Lugano. Our goal was a top 10 finished and Trampusch crossed the line as fifth. Our best result so far, considering the quality of the riders in the race.
Radochla snatched the green jersey on the final day of Santamarém and made the podium in Rund um Köln.
Pichler announced that he will retire after this season, who needs that over the hill, wage sucking guy?
All in all very good. Financially things are not looking so bright. A large portion of the budget is allready spent. Can we make ends meet? Some staff members were kicked in order to reduce salaries.

Tour de Romandie update
One of our major goals for the seasons was to gain a wild card to the pro tour event in Romande. Virtually all top continental teams handed in applications.
The lycky four:
Barloworld
Agritubel
LPR Breaks-Ballan
Acqua e Sapone
A team like ELK Haus-Simplon will always struggle to compete with teams like those.
Not feeling too great at the moment. Sponsors confidence down to poor, economics about to go down the drain and I may have to revise the schedules for Rohregger and Trampusch. |

Summary April
A discouraging month. Some descent results by our sprinters, but we missed the wild card to Tour de Romandie.
On the upside Frankhauser has devoleped quickly under our staff of trainers. He will get a custom training programme focusing on Österrich Rundfarht. |

Thanks, didn't manage to do alot of racing yesterday since I was busy doing laundry, cooking, cleaning and took a trip to the gym.
Did however race (yes raced, not simmed) Colliers classic. Will post it soon. It was a truly dramatic race with a spectacular outcome - well, you'll see for your selves.. |

Colliers classic
Just typically danish today - flat and raining.
The five man stron break held close to 7 minutes on the passive peloton with 100 kilometers to go. Everybody was waiting for the favourites CSC to take control of the tempo in the peloton.
Just as expected, the danish team took their responsibility.
CCC Polsat setting a furious tempo + strong wind = split in the peloton. Fortunately all of our riders were on the right side. Team GLS worked hard to bring the pack together.
3C Group takes over in the front. The peloton has split into atoms. A very interesting turn out that favours the ones in the break.
18 kilometers to the line and the peloton continues to break apart. Radochla and Frankhauser looking good in a group of 19 just a minute behind the sole leader.
Frankhauser swithces to the high speed Toyota train as Arvesen falls back. Radochla struggling to follow Frankhauser.
The two Toyota sprinters and Frankhauser has opened up a gap with only 2 km to go. Dominguez looking strong, while Stevic has worked hard. Will it be Frankhauser or Dominguez?
Dominguez all the way, what a finish. Frankhauser has almost been caught by the followers. Can he hang on for a podium place?
100 m, Cancellara and Rasmussen closing fast.
Close, but no cigarr. 2 riders in the top 10, but not satisfying... When will the first stagewin of the season come?
1 Iván Domínguez Toyota - United Pro Cycling Team 4h06'32
2 Ivan Stevic Toyota - United Pro Cycling Team s.t.
3 Fabian Cancellara Team CSC - Saxo Bank s.t.
4 Alex Rasmussen Team Designa Kökken s.t.

unlucky, but you can't tell us you dropped your usb into a river without telling us how it happened. what were you doing with your usb next to a river for starters?
so what happened? |

Well, this is a bit embarrassing to say the least.
It was an alcohol induced juggling accident. I'm a juggling freak, and at some point last night when we were down by the canal (river was a bit of an exaggeration) I though I'd impress a buch of ladies that we were hanging with with my juggling skills. I normally don't bring my juggling balls when I go out, yesterday was no exception. Searched my pockets and found A: cell phone, B: usb-stick and C: ipod. Perfect! Or maybe just plain stupid?
Anyways I lost balance and control and had to make a split second descission weather to grab the ipod or the usb-stick (fortunately my cell was not in the air at that point) and went for the ipod.
The girls were not all that impressed...
Not sure about what to do with the story.
A quick recap (from the top of my head)
*won my first stage (simmed) with Frankhauser - one of the flat stages in Bayern Rundfahrt. Also won the overall climber in this race (Eibegger)
*Finnished 6th (Rohregger) and 10th (Eibegger) in GP Triberg - Schwarzwald - sponsors were now a bit happier.
*Didn't win Tour of Slovenia, but won a stage (played) with Frankhauser and finished 4th overall (Rohregger). Weird race this was. Only 7 teams and 42 riders in total. The final stage, which I simmed (since I had no hope of winning the tour) ended up with a two man break finishing 9½ minutes before the pack and the stagewinner also took the GC win (knocking down Rohregger to 4th).
*Eibegger was starting to get pissed as he acted as a helper for Rohregger during Bayern, Triberg - Schwartzwald and Tour of Slovenia.
*Down to my last 25k euro and just about to start Österrich Rundfahrt. Budget will not hold.
An idea is to do the Österrich rundfahrt, which is the main goal of the season and then drop the story. I will get sacked fairly soon anyways (economic reasons).
Other ideas?
I really like playing with this team, but I've found that I like playing mor than the story part... |

at the juggling story...
about your game: Do as you like best!
If you find it annoying to do the story, then drop it - no reason for you to continue if you do it just to please us...
Your story have opened my eyes for the Elk Haus team - seems like a team with a good balnace between climbers and sprinter(s).
Maybe it'll be my team in my new carrier after the 1.0.2.3 patch and the Fusion DB (NO i'm not bitching about the Fusion DB ) |

it's a nice team to play with. quite balanced, but lack TT (as do austria in general). Budget is on the tight side.
Also waiting for the fusion db (also not bitchin) and possibly another patch before I launch a serious career.
Thinking of ELK, but might go with Liberty Seguros or something else instead. |

Sella of CSF Navigare must be considered as one of the favourites. Barlowolrd has brought a surprisingly strong team. No wonder, since they are not in the Tour de France.
Our goals is to get Rohregger a top 10 GC, and possibly higher. Eibegger is targeting the polka dot, but might act as a super domestique from time to time. Frankhauser will be looking to get the green jersey (which will be very diffucult) and Summer will also be sprinting on the super flat stages. |
