According to Marca, Duenas has admitted that he in fact took EPO as a performance enhancer during the Tour de France.

nope. doping has no jail term. the "small pharmacy" which was found in his hotel room, however, will give him 2 years, or 5 if they can prove that the drugs were brought from abroad.

Finally. Corti and his oh-so-obviously-doped-up teams have been pissing me off for years.
Hopefully Corti won't get another team, and hopefully he won't manage to continue with this one, either. I'm tired of his riders constantly testing positive and him always reacting with "I'm extremely shocked. I never expected it". Bullshit.

Hunter has commented on his teammate.
He needs to be punched in the nose for his arrogance. Just remember how he made so many accusations to Contador in the Giro mean while he is the dirty little snake.. Idiot.. I doubt he will ever show his face again in the pro peleton cause nobody likes him, and for sure nobody will miss him.. . i certainly wont.. |

I know everybody has heard that Barloworld is pulling out of sponsoring the team but its not as drastic as it may seem. The team, in essence, is going to continue and will just ride under a different name. It will be the exact same situation as High Road and Slipstream were before. There was funding for a team but there was no actual main sponsor that had naming rights on the clothing, so after the Tour the team will be named something totally different. However the riders and managment all all other things concerned remain the same.
Only the name of Barloworld and its brands will be removed from all team goods.
Yes, it's sad that one event can have such a catastrophic effect on the team but it is life I guess. Would have been nice if they stuck around though, cause I've yet to see a person say "hey I'm not renting an AVIS car cause Mr Duenas took some medical stuff he shouldn't have". My stupid two cents worth.
It was the same back when Phonak was in the cycling. They went through so many troubled times but in the end the Phonak became the second biggest supplier of hearing aids in the world.
Anyways, for what it's worth, it has been good riding under the Barloworld name for 2 seasons. I had one amazing Tour last year and this one not finished yet.
No matter what the team becomes or is called, in the end cycling will continue as it's an amazing sport. And I've still got a few years in me as well.
- Robert Hunter
yes, Claudio Corti and his goons will stay, which destroys any chance that the team might be clean. No matter what anyone says, they won't change my mind, for the simple reason that people like Corti don't change. ever.
"One person" says Hunter. right...like I'll believe that. There is not one cyclist on that team who I feel comfortable about. The list of teams they came from says a lot. The fact that only very specific teams sign Barloworld riders says even more, in my book.
Signing Pfannberger after all the accusations of doping and his non-negative test was just the final straw. For me there is no faith in Barloworld, nor should there be any.
rant over.

Isso, you just declared war on me with that signature, and anyway, yes Barloworld is doped as hell, and I agree that Corti is the biggest jackass in cycling. |

Yes i must say, the GB teams doping program is extremely well developed. And there are lots of meetings every year telling the GB riders about EPO etc. |

You know what i mean... The meeting involve telling them what will happen if they take EPO, if offered EPO etc. They also involve information about Blood Levels. For instance when Hayles found out that he had a high level at the World Champs information was taken form that case and is now being used to teach younger generation GB cyclists. I know Hayles was fully cleared but the lesson involved what to do in that situation etc |
