To be honest i never really get boxed in as i always stay dead never the front as i am always an average sprinter 75-79 stats so i rik it and try and win from near the front as you cant win countering a sprint with a 79 unless you arnt riding against a boonen etc |

Tour of Qatar
Preview:
For Tour of Qatar we have brought Ciolek and Henderson for the sprints, and we are mostly looking to gain some race fitness, and maybe a stage win if we are lucky. We have no real aim at the GC since we haven't taken a strong TT squad with us.
Stage 1/5
A horrible TTT for Columbia where we ended over a minute behind winners Slipstream. So all GC hopes are gine on the first stage already, but we still have hopes for stage wins later on since Ciolek is in a decent shape.

Tour Down Under
Stage 5/6
Queen stage of the tour with a fairly big hill close to the finish that should decide the race. The break of the day is a fairly large and dangerous one with 15 riders in it, and sadly no one from Columbia.
With around 70km to go 5 riders decide to join the leading group and the peleton is a mess with riders attacking from right and left, which is only helping the breakaway to get more time. Looks like the winner will be one of them.
On the climb there are 16 riders who are about 1,30 before the peleton who has really increased their speed the last 20km and are closing the gap fast.
No one really took his attack seriously, but Vansummeren has a big lead with just 5km left and has already taken the stage, but will he take the jersey as well. He needs 1,34 on his teammate Van Avermaet.
Meanwhile the peleton is chasing after him and also two other riders who has broken away, Devolder and Flecha. The sprint has started in a disorganized peleton who still has Cavendish, Eisel and Hincapie in it thankfully even if they are tired.
Vansummeren takes the stage as expected, but he is 7 seconds to slow to take the jersey as well. And Eisel and Cavendish doesn't lose any time on the leader jsey either, so they are just 4 seconds behind before the last stage. It will be a very exciting one.

Tour of Qatar
Stage 1/5
After a horrible TTT all we can hope for now is winning stages and since we have clearly the two best sprinters here, we really should get at least two stage wins.
Break of the day with Cappele as one of the riders in it. Slipstream takes responsibility for their jersey and keeps the breakaway just a few minutes ahead of the peleton.
Chaos when the peleton splits in 5-6 larger groups with almost the whole Columbia in the 2nd one. Right away all teams send a few riders forward and it's soon back to one large group.
As if that wasn't enough, right when the sprint started it's a fall in the peleton, which slows down about 100 riders who will lose over a minute on the stage. Columbia has a nice position with Henderson who is looking good today.
Dyudua has a nice lead, but Henderson is closing in fast, will it be a Milram or Columbia victory today?
It's Henderson that takes number 2 for Columbia this year!, and also earns 20 bonus seconds which places him just 40 behind now, there is still a chance. Ciolek is 3rd on the stage as well.

Weird stage, but Henderson won it easily
There aren't any decent sprinters in the top 10 other than Henderson and Ciolek though. Did none turn up? or they just fall in the crash?

sadly, only continental sprinters show up at Qatar every time (because of the TDU overlapping this year plus the fact that it's now ProTour). other than that, it's always the sorry bunch you see here

I haven't got as far a Qatar yet, but my goal of winning the TDU with High Road has been ruined by wourld-class riders turning up
There is Freire, Napolitano, Bennati, Cobo, Pozzato, De La Fuente, Hushovd, O'Grady, McEwen.
I have no chance
