Looks very promising, let's hope that they have gone trough the new system and picked out the most horrible bugs. Or else we will see the nr.2 guy in the GC go for a 150km attack

Exactly my thoughts. The ideas are promising, but at launch it will no doubt be a buggy mess, especially since Cyanide has a chance to overcorrect issues in their AI.
That being said, my hope is after a patch or two we have a solid improvement to the series, one I might even consider getting for the first time since 2015.

I know I may be naive.. but the first PCM i bought was 12, followed by 14, 16 and 17 so I never got to play 10 and 11 (wich I think most of you consider the best). And I do feel like 17 brought a much better racing with the new race energy system. Yeah the cobbles and hills are broken but I don't mind cause it forces me to push myself harder and race smarter and better.. If it's easy where's the fun (and i play at 1.15 dificulty).
And honestly I'm very excited for this one, specially after reading that article. A cycling race isn't something you can completely mimmick into a game, but as I play it I feel they've done a preety good job, and if all those improvements do work fine I think I'll keep genuinely enjoying playing (i do expect bugs tho).

i always put 1-2 riders from begin to relay,so AI can make any tactics,it will be useless from my point of view,breakaways won't go to far cause i won't let them
only leaders attacks matter

im starting to look at the streams of it on youtube
so far i can see promotion/relegation has been changed to riders points not the team
on october 25th after the transfers are made each teams points are tallied up and that decides who is in which division
instead of the points each team scored the previous season |

This seems like a change overdue, given this is how it's done irl for a few years now

Also watching some streams of it, haven't seen any PCM yet but the console game actually looks really cool, aside from some AI stuff that seems weird. Really nice atmosphere and feel to it, even if it isn't the same or as good as PCM.

Contracts still look like bullshit though. I watched a stream and it seems very hard to keep your riders again.
It's the thing that keeps me from playing career mode of the last few PCM's and play Pro Cyclist instead. It's hard to build a legacy with multiple riders on the team as you never seem to be able to keep them (in my experience).
In older PCM's I used to scout riders from 1 country and then build that country up. Nowadays that is nearly impossible. Because you'll lose your good ones anyway. Unless you use the editor |
