Hi there.
Just purchased a copy of the game (which somehow turned out to be 3 copies, received 3 emails with different order numbers, but that isn't my main concern atm).
When I try to dl the game it stops before it has even begun.
After I choose path for the install, the dl window comes up. It says "Retrieving download list". And after 10 secs with nothing happening I get up "Cannot get file sizes" in big red letters.
Any solution or experience with this problem?
Thanks
That might well be your problem when you get charged for all three copies And as a computer game, it ain't exactly a cheap one B)
Hehe true. But I just want to play the game.
I turned of all firewalls and anti virus programs, still doesn't work. Got to be a problem with the net.
And use a proxy? I have no idea what you mean here, having another blonde day unfortunately |

Try using a download manager when downloading the game, for example FlashGet. |

You cannot use the official DB editor before you've activated the game. But Hannes works fine :-) Also, i think i stumbled upon a little hint about the demo content while browsing the folders.. go have a look
Open yes, but I don't think you can make any changes with Hannes Converter - not until it has been patched at least
Anyway, feel free to send me a PM with your findings
That might be true actually. I didn't try to save any changes, just had a look through the stats a bit. |

Only a few languages which are missing on the DL-version |

The fresh install of PCM2008 is 5.10 Gigabyte by the way. Now have i understood it correctly when i've heard that after you run a stage for the first time it saves a "preload" for it? Meaning the foldersize will probably slightly increase as you play through a season. |

The size is due to the fact that many stages are already preloaded, including f.e. the stages of the grand tours, the main classics, etc. But as you say, if there isn't already a preloaded stage, it will be created automatically when the stage is played for the first time. |

And it's a brilliant feature. Loading was always a nuisance in PCM |

I think it was a bit stupid to include pre-loaded stages in the DVD. If the game creates one if it doesn’t exist, why make it a few extra gigs bigger. Then again, they should’ve included 25 gigs or so of pre-loaded stages, to dissuade people from downloading a 25 gig pirated copy

I wouldn't be so sure of it... I know someone who says that he will be playing PCM2008 tonight already... So I'm guessing the game really isn't that hard to crack...
I'm just eager to see if there will be a demo released today or not...

Well, at least there would be more people online in the PCM08 room at Gamecenter. I feel a bit lonely at the moment |

I can open the database with the official editor. I downloaded the game last night and installed it this morning and wanted to test it, and it works. I haven't tried to save anything yet though.
I've attached a screen just so you believe me (for even more believability, it's of the British riders)

This is the point when someone comes in here screaming "The demo is out!"
or
"The demo will be out at Xh00 GMT"
CrueTrue, I'm looking in your direction

When i want to download the game and reach the "choose your means of payment," step I have nothing to choose from.
On the screen it says "please choose your means of payment," and that's all.
No Visa or Mastercard or anything like that. Is it supposed to be like that or am I just doing something wrong?
Can any of you guys help me with this? I have attached a screenshot of it.
Try to use a proxy. It worked for AaB-ern. |

My bad, i tried to launch it from the auotlaunch menu, which i couldn't. Using the executable from the PCM folder works like a charm |
