La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 5
Today is the last stage and it was a great first race.
Coming to the first climb, a group of 5 broke away and built a 5 minute gap.
One rider got away and built a 10 minute lead on the peloton. He was only 5 minutes back in the GC so everyone (including me) came to the front and started to eat a way at the gap. With about 2 kilometers to go, he was finally caught.
It was a sprint finish but it was really Mistsubishi domination. They took the top 4 positions as Moos took 5th.
I'm happy that the race is over and I'm ready for my next race, California.

Preparing for Cali
As I prepare for California I know that my job will be to help Moos. I hope that I can still have great results but I won't be able to be the leader.

A Bad Accident
The Tour of California squad was preparing for California by training on one of the mountains we will be riding on during the race. We were going downhill and as we make a turn I see out of the corner of my eye Moos' bike flying forward and just missing me. Everyone stopped and Moos was in pain. We found out that Moos would not be able to race and that I would have to lead the team.
As the Team leader, I will be sent to the Press Conference tomorrow.

Amgen Tour of California Stage 1
I knew that I was not the strongest time trialist here but I might have the best form so I had high expectations. I put the burners on and set a lightning pace. I really gave 110% so that I would be in good position tomorrow.
I was sure my time would hold but right behind me came Maaskant took the overall time and I had to settle for 2nd.
I forgot the screenshot but...

I was forced to answer all the questions from the media.
Q: What happened to Alexandre Moos?
A: We were training and his bike must have slipped.
Q: Are the Rumors true that you caused this.
A: With what grounds are you getting this from. Why would I want the team leader out of a race that he has a good chance in winning. I have heard the rumors and they are absolutely bull crap.
Q: Do you plan on going to the PT at the end of the season.
A: That is no what I'm worried about right now.
Q: What are your hopes this race?
A: Well we want to win the whole thing but a couple of stage wins would be great also. Sorry but there are no more time for statements. If you have any questions feel free to post them somewhere (*cough* here)

Amgen Tour of California Stage 2
I was only 3 seconds back so I didn't want to lose anytime.
Flecha of Rabobank broke away with a small group and led the race for almost the whole race.
After Slipstream and Taylor T brought in the break it was time to make a decision. Should I stay or should I go. I decided to go and Louder came with me.
Coming with less than 3 kilometers to go the peloton was breathing down our neck. I sprinted with all my might knowing they were right behind me.
Now with about 1 kilometer to go the peloton was even closer. My heart was pounding and I was afraid to look back. I was sure I was gonna get caught.
But somehow I found a second win and managed to hold off the peloton for my first win.
It was such a great experience to get my first win and to put on the yellow jersey in the USA.
