It's pretty much an exclusively SEL lineup, what did you expect?
And then a couple swedish players (one who never played in the NHL, another who did and wasn't good enough) come out and say to the media that the NHL is overrated.
riiiight....

I'm looking at three or four of the things they said and thinking really hard on which one is the most retarded. I also love how they don't even know who Toews is
Tony Martensson spoke his mind on the value of NHL players.
"I think almost our whole team are more than qualified for being in the NHL and I don't believe that just being in the NHL makes a player better than playing in Sweden necessarily. I'm pretty sick of all the talk about how good they are supposed to be", said the Swedish centre.
Veteran defenseman Johan Akerman was another Swedish player to chip in to the debate.
"NHL is simply overrated. It isn't that much of a difference, really".
Comments made by Swedish coach Bengt-Ake Gustafsson
This year's teenage sensation from Team Canada, Jonathan Toews, was virtually unknown by both coaches and players in Tre Kronor.
"I don't know anything about him. I don't think I've ever seen him play, except for maybe once at the World Juniors and he didn't look anything special then

Frans Nielsen, Jannik Hansen, Kim Staal. Here's the list of drafted Danes:
Heinz Ehlers, 1984, NYR, 188
Søren True, 1986, NYR, 240
Jesper Duus, 1987, EDM, 240
Kim Staal, 1996, MTL, 96
Frans Nielsen, 2002, NYI, 87
Peter Regin, 2004, OTT, 87
Jannik Hansen, 2004, VAN, 287
Morten Madsen, 2005, MIN, 122
Kirill Starkov, 2005, CBS, 189
And as late as today, I read that Lars Eller will sign with a team in a few days.
But i get your point

But then Norway is doing an awesome tournament. They have beaten Germany and took one point from Finland. And yesterday they had 1-1 against Kanada until five minutes left when Rick Nash scored the winning goal. And Norway should be worse than Denmark.

I asked you for a list of current NHL players. 2 of those guys played games in the NHL, but did not accrue "a season" (for that they needed to have played at least 25 out of the 82 games. none came even remotely close) so they don't qualify as having played in the NHL this season. the other isn't even in north america.
As for the second list, only Eller has the remotest chance in hell of becoming a decent player. If all works out he could become a useful second liner.
Mikkel Bodker on the other hand, will likely go top 10 in the next draft (which is a very strong one) and could become quite a special player one day.

With another goalkeeper Denmark would have done better, but they still shouldn't have a chance. I'm impressed with Belarus getting a point from Russia, and Norway only losing 2-1 to Canada. It's really weird this year |
