That's the one reason that PS3 players can "humuliate" their Xbox enemies |

Excellent. At least an online game where my enemies play in worst conditions than I do.
Counting down to spank them in 48 hours, with one of the last 60gb PS3 of this country. (Anyway, my mates keep stalking my PS3, and now that should become even creepier. They cry everytime they have to do a mix of cables to shut down their 40gb ones and to turn on the PS2 just to play PES6)

Good news: I just bought the PS3 and FIFA08 and COD4, they're all getting dispatched on the 30th April (30th April starts in 10 minutes) so I can put some time in until GTA arrivesB)
Bad news: I'm down about £370 in the space of 5 minutes

I have a Wii at the left side of my PS3. Since I got the PS3, it has become nothing more than a "Sixaxis controller table".

I've still not seen anything to suggest that this is anything more than the same old Grand Theft Auto with a little bit more polish. There's plenty of more amusing pursuits out there. I guess I'll buy it cheap second-hand in a few months and kill a couple of hours doing the same old crap they make you do in every GTA.
And why would you buy the PS3 version? It runs at a lower resolution, has a choppier framerate, and doesn't feature the extensive downloadable content. And apparently the online play isn't even working properly. Sigh. I'd like to support Sony and buy a PS3, but the only thing it's got going for it is MGS4, and I can't afford to blow £350 on one game (at least, not while you're all stealing every single thing my work produces -- I've got to eat, guys). |

I don't know if that is really true, but the PS3 version is pointed as being better than the Xbox one. And I thought I would prefer all those things to the Red Rings of Death.

Turismo: From what I've been reading, it's the Xbox-version which has framerate problems. Also, it is possible to download stuff to PS3 - and it's free for PS3, not free for Xbox users |

actually, both games has framrate issues.....and it's possible to d/l for the xbox version as well, and you get a free month on xbox live with the game, so it's free for a month at least |

You've been reading wrong, perhaps? It's strange enough that you've not managed to read anything about Microsoft shelling out $50m for exclusive downloadable content that Rockstar claim adds hours to the game, but the fact that you think PS3 will allow FREE microtransactions is just bizarre.
Whatever, I'm not an Xbox 360 fanboy. My original Xbox died shortly after its warranty ran out, then died again not long after I paid to get it repaired, so I'm a bit wary of Microsoft consoles altogether. I just know if I want a copy of the game I'll be buying the version that runs at a resolution higher than 630p, doesn't have notable framerate issues, and comes with a fuckton more content should I want it. |

About the downloadable content, I was refering to the fact that it costs money to go online with the Xbox. It doesn't cost money to go online with the PS3 - not yet at least. About the exclusive content, I didn't know that.
About framerate, I got that from the IGN.com-review:
Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected. That a game with great AI, an awesome physics engine and a detailed open world runs so well and with such short load times is a technical marvel. For that, I can forgive framerate issues and some noticeable aliasing.
The world is yours online. The art team gets major kudos for creating a living world. There is great texture work in the environments, a nice field-of-vision blur of buildings in the distance, some excellently modeled cars, ball-jarring explosions, phenomenal water effects and one interesting-looking Eastern Euro for a lead character. Sure, it's not a game that runs perfectly all the time, but the technical elements almost never get in the way of the gameplay.
For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud. |

Coming straight out of the game i can confirm that the PS3 version does have some framerate issues even at 480p.

I'd be more worried about the games complete inability to use subtitles or let you win a fistfight without losing half your health. That said, im not gonna form a proper opinion in the first 24 hours.

Yeah one of my mates says you can only take 3 bullets and your dead. You lose your health very quickly in this GTA, it's more realistic I suppose (unless in real life you yourself are a beef) but it could get annoying
About the framerates, I'd rather have it on PS3 and have slight issues than have it on Xbox and then have to send the Xbox back to Microsoft because GTA breaks some Xbox's
